Each state maintains their own department of agriculture. Many of these restrict the types of food, fruits, vegetables that can enter the state b/c of concerns about exotics pests, bacteria, etc ..... Why don't these rules violate the commerce clause? Where do states get this authority? I know they get it from state legislatures, but federal law reigns supreme.....
