As I prepare to start buying parts for my computer, I decided to ask for some input. Where do you look for your hot deals on computers? Who is reliable in what the send? Online or store??
I always use Pricewatch and Ibuyer to find the cheapest prices online. Be sure to check with resellerratings, BizRate, or similar services to check on reliability of vendors before ordering, though.....
pricewatch.com and whatever is lowest generally.. usual places I buy from is gogocity.com , buy.com and techstore.com .. gogocity is annoying with their shipping costs though, but they are generally a little cheaper than places so it's a tradeoff
I go to newegg.com, mwave.com, and the hotdeals forums first. For the memory, I goto crucial.com. For the monitors and cases, I goto egghead.com or onvia.com because of their flat or free shipping rates. Finally, if I still have to purchase stuff, I go to pricewatch.com.
Newegg or Mwave for most things. Crucial for memory. Got my 900nf from Onvia (back in the Pointclick days!). Used to order some stuff from Outpost.com because the free overnight was real nice though while shipping isn't bad there, their prices and selection isn't very good.
So I think I'm mostly with Schmorq on this one.
edit: I've bought some things like speakers, printer, cd-rw, and more from buy.com. I don't think I knew about Newegg at the time but they seem to have cheap printers and the coupons were helpful too.
Most of my stuff came from NCIX or PC Canada. Also, I get some stuff from within the town I live in, just because its there. The two websites I listed are some of the best for service and stuff within Canada, but certainly not the cheapest. But then again, to me, $5 here and $10 there means nothing to me.
