Where do you buy your tools?

Harbor freight, of course. There is absolutely no need to get more expensive stuff.

The made in Taiwan tools from Lowes (Kobalt) and Home Depot (Husky) are actually pretty good quality. IMO they are a definite step up from Craftsman's basic line which is now made in China and doesn't have the same quality anymore.

I have a 72-tooth ratchet from Lowes which has very good finish and a nice ratcheting action.

Yeah, I really like the basic Kobalt ratchets I have. I've taken mine apart and lubed up the ratchet with super lube and they are silky smooth and work very well. I noticed at Lowes the other day they have a bunch of fancy versions of their ratchets now, and I'm not sure if those are as good as the basic ratchets.

I have a few pliers from Knipex and they are the best pliers I've ever owned. That looks really, REALLY cool.

Those look nice.
One thing I do is swap meets and second hand stores for big sockets and wrenches. I don't care if my 1.5" wrench matches my 1.25" wrench. Same for the big sockets you use once in a great while.

Mostly Sears Craftsman but a smattering of others.

I'v had to order specialty tools for work and wound up buying either German/Swiss or Japanese. Getting good metric tools, particularly SS or chrome that's compatible with clean rooms (FAB's), kind of drives you to special order.

I keep a kit in my car that's pretty limited but capable of doing 95% of the work I might have to in an emergency.

Knipex ia quality stuff. I have some Knipex mini bolt cutters that are awesome.

Obviously you do not make a living with your tools. Also you have NO sense as to the value of good products. Most of the harbor freight junk I have seen is just that.

Harbor Freight or Lowe's usually. Don't need anything special just for around the house. Spending $20 for a wrench would just be a complete waste of money for me.
