Where does phone save passwords?

I am house sitting for the 'rents. My phone remembers their wireless password but I don't. Can I see the password on my Evo so I can log in with my laptop?
Don't want to bug them on vacation for something trivial.

They called so I got the password but I am still curious if the phone saves it in plain text.

If my phone were connected I'd probably try to get into their router and check their password that way. I did that a few times for my parents when they forgot their own wireless password but their computers still had it saved. Just type in 192.168.0.1 (or whatever the router's address is) into the browser.

I use an app called Wifi Key Recovery. It pulls the wireless passwords out and lets you look at them and back them up. A must have if your phone is in a constant state of software turmoil and your friends and relatives are annoyed having to constantly repeat their wireless passwords to you.

I'll have to root my phone again.

I should point out though, it doesn't actually seem to restore your wifi passwords, which is kind of obnoxious, but it will pull them for you.
