Right.
They'd have to work 20 hours a week.
Think about it.
Can students really do that?
Damn, I worked 35 hours per week as a student and had to hand a good chunk of it over to the government. I didn't know you could ask for benefits.
Why not? Most of them are struggling and with tuition and rent it can easily add up. Why couldn't you ask for benefits?
I didn't know a single student who was on benefits while in school. I thought that was what financial aid was for.
I doubt eating Ramen noodles 24/7 would make someone fat, unless you are eating it with lots of fat such butter. I sometimes eat it once or twice a day and I'm hardly overweight.I'm a student myself 2 years ago and I never ever seen anyone in the flat eating cheap ass ramen 24/7. Maybe the odd occasion but it's not something we eat or buy. No wonder the US is fat.
How do you get fat from eating instant ramen? I had fat bank account in college and still ate ramen 24/7. Even today, I eat instant ramen multiple times a week. I had some today. And I have money and I know how to cook.I'm a student myself 2 years ago and I never ever seen anyone in the flat eating cheap ass ramen 24/7. When I was a kid, I liked salty food that filled me up and was easy to make. The fact than ramen is usually cheap is a bonus.
It's not just about being poor, either - it's about a meal you can make in a coffee pot in your dorm room. With limited cooking skills, etc. And which you don't need a refrigerator to keep.
Yes it would be OK, and yes do drink plenty of water. If you have a fast metabolism and don't worry about getting fat, would ramen actually be alright to eat everyday? Any health problems if you drink a lot of water?
I averaged 2 packs a day for years. It's the high sodium you have to watch out for. But I have crazy fast metabolism. It's now starting to slow down but I can still eat whatever I want without much consequence. If you have a fast metabolism and don't worry about getting fat, would ramen actually be alright to eat everyday? Any health problems if you drink a lot of water?

Are College Students Eligible for SNAP?
- It depends...
- SNAP eligibility is based on monthly income, so Congress was concerned that college students from middle class families could qualify even though they don’t need help.
- Therefore, most college students (attending at least half time) are excluded from receiving SNAP, but there are a set of exceptions that apply to many nontraditional and low-income students.
- ...
- Students are exempt from the student exclusion if employed for pay at least 20 hours per week.
Why not just eat both?I'm a college student and I didn't qualify when I tried to get them last year. I worked 40+ hours a week while going to school full-time. I will have to look into it again. Potatoes over Ramen any day.
Why not just eat both?
Ramen does have the advantage of being quick and easy to fix though. I'll give you that.
