POLICE SUPPLY STORE????

Dude, this is Canada, we don't have those, and if we do, everything is made in China. I want something forged by a 300 pound American with a beard who's thinking about chicken wings and $ 2 drafts...

You had better check local laws first. They are illegal in some places from what some police friends of mine have told me.

http://www.911gear.ca/blog/expandab...ecurity-duty-gear-toronto-ontario-canada.html

"At 911 Gear we do not sell Batons to Civilians Proof of Law Enforcement Security or EMS Employment will be required and confirmed."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baton_%28law_enforcement)

In Canada, there is no specific law that prohibits batons; except for the Kiyoga baton, which is defined as a prohibited weapon under a regulation entitled Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited or Restricted (also capable of being referred to by its registration number: SOR 98-462). However, it is a crime under section 90 of the Criminal Code of Canada to carry any weapon, including a baton, in a concealed fashion. Also, section 88(1) of the Code specifies that it is a criminal offence to possess a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, or a purpose that is "dangerous to public peace". Consequently, if a person were to possess a baton and act in a manner that is perceived by the authorities as being overly aggressive, or that provokes others, they could possibly be charged with that offence."

So basically I can have a baton in Canada as long as it's not concealed?

Concealed... or "committing an offence" ... if you assault someone with it, whether it is self defense or not... they'd probably consider it an offence.

Better off with a bat.

Hey.. i was just going to batting practice :hmm:

Chiefsupply.com is where I buy most of my stuff. They have a local warehouse so I get my stuff next day. lapolicegear.com is good but their shipping is a bit high. My new favorite is opticsplanet.com. They have a massive selection pretty much only rivaled by amazon. They have free UPS shipping for orders over $30. It is real free shipping, not the your ship sits in a warehouse for two weeks before shipping. It goes out like anything else. The default for most agencies is galls but they are overpriced on everything.

Basically when I need something I first check ebay, then Chiefs, then opticsplanet.

I am still a fan of ebay for small orders. Everywhere else shipping kills it. I bought new pair of handcuffs a couple weeks ago(S&W M&P's I love them). Ended up buying them from ebay for $33. Everywhere else it was over $40 with shipping.

ASP is the big guys in the baton area with monandock being next. You can't go wrong with ASP. We have some that have been around forever and they still function 100%

That won't fly either.

A baseball bat is considered a weapon. A friend of mine was charged for carrying one several years ago.

Legal in NC but not legal to be concealed. period. Even a CCW doesn't let you tote one.
