I really wanted to build my own computer, and have been shopping for parts for like 3 weeks, but this will be 200 dollars more, with another stick of 512 RAM, PCI-E capable, and 4 year warranty. Also Free Shipping, and you have to order online(I have no problem with)

Don't know where you got 1066 side bus, the link says only 800Mhz. Also, the price is cold, if you don't need PCI-E (and you don't need it right now) and if you shop around you can build the same computer for much less.

Proof? I find that somewhat difficult to believe. I've been shopping for parts for a few weeks, and haven't seen anything significantly cheaper.

And it is weird about the FSB. On the actual magazine page, it says 1066....

I don't think you can build for cheaper... it'd probably run you about the same price to build the exact same one. Especially with the LCD and the DDR2 cranking up most of the price.

dell's prices are better imo, plus you get a waranty - only thing i save money on from dell is RAM and optical drives

The only propietary parts are the case and psu. I think Dell uses modified intel motherboards too.

I think dell gave up using special power pinouts a couple years ago after ppl started blowing out stuff by sticking a standard atx power supply in it. They were using a standard ATX plug and special wiring pinout order, which is retarded. They shoulda changed the plug if they changed the wiring order to prevent stuff like that.

Does the difference between 1066 and 800 FSB make a difference. When you put in the e-code from the magazine you get the system, and it says there was a print error in the advertisemtn. Thetrue FSB is 800. Is that a huge performance difference?

And how do you get a delff coupon?

And there's nothing wrong with getting a Dell. Dell has made huge progress in using quality components, and some of their prices during this holiday season have been unbeatable.

Lots of people claim it's possible to build cheaper than buy a Dell and I've challenged several to prove it but when you start adding up everything, the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and software; it's nearly impossible to beat Dell on price. I've tried it several times myself and failed. I've owned a Dell for 3 years, bought because of the excellent track record we had with them at work. It has been the most trouble free machine I've had. There are lots of good reasons to build your own computer but price is no longer one of them (if you have to build from scratch).
