Where is the cheapest place to get glasses online?

I'm very near sighted and my lenses are usually expensive since I try to go with the thinnest option available. Anyone know where to go online for inexpensive frames and lenses?

Similarly, anyone know of a place to get cheap sunglasses, but with the UV protection and polarized? I'm not about to spend $150 at Sunglass Hut and I don't want the cheapest $5 pair from Wal-Mart either. Basically, I want quality, but for cheap.

Zenni or Coast, as in the old thread, best deals are from sales that happen maybe once a year.

With a high prescription, go with the highest index, roundest, smallest diameter lens. Lenses increase rapidly in thickness and weight with the distance from the center/pupil, so the corners of a rectangular lens can be most of the weight.

Mine have lasted years, and the prescription was spot on. Just make sure to get your 'pupilary distance' (PD) from the eye exam.

I use to own Ray Bans. But I smashed them several times. Last time was with the trunk of my car.

So instead of paying through the nose for prescription sunglasses, I bought polarized sunglasses at Walgreens close to the pic below. Paid 2 for $24. Only difference from the picture is that the color of the lens is yellow, like blue blockers. Very cheap but I thought they were clearer reading signs than others in the store. Happy with them which is all that counts. I really don't need glasses driving during the day. Prescription sunglasses are no use at night.
