Where should i put my Coolermaster copper ram heatsinks??

Hi...

I am planning to order these copper ram heatsinks from Coolermaster....but i dont want to put them on my ram...but on parts of my motherboard...asus a7v8.

I think on the southbridge would be good
also on the clockgenerator (but where is it on my ASUS A7v8??)...

Any other chips that will need these babies ...in order to increase stability..?

Umm.. How about your vid cards memory. I dont see any reason to stick one on the southbridge.

I'd use them for my mosfets and clock gen. Putting small heatsinks on a south bridge or north bridge would be a waste and would not be as good as a single, large heatsink. I would only do this if I had the kit sitting around for free... I would not buy them just for that.

So not on the Southbridge you say? Dont you think it will add stability?

The mosfets...i have around 14 of them on my asus a7v8...with 6 or 7 placed in the area of the CPU socket...some are bit larger ones...
So you think i should put them on these large tubes ...? Which of them are the most important ones?

=>Is it possible to connect one copper heatsink with two mosfets (as they are quite close to each other, and it would be a waste of placing just one full copper heatsink on just one mosfet.., or would i get a short circuit if i do this???)


I agree the clockgenerator too..(where is it on my mobo, any idea, before i have to look for the manual...)

One heatsink for 2 mosfets should be fine. I think MSI makes a habit of putting heatsinks on all of their mosfets

You don't need a heatsink on your southbridge, but if you wanted one, you should put a single large heatsink that can cover the entire surface of the SB. Don't put two small heatsinks on it.

The Mosfets and maybe some on my VGA RAM??

Can you show me a picture of an MSI board with these 'standard' heatsinks on their mosfets....Please!! Could give me some clear view of it...

These are capacitors. They help regulate voltage by smoothing out spikes. I have never heard of a mobo with anywhere near 14 MOSFETs!!
