Where should the fan on the powersupply be facing?

Should it be facing down into the case or up into the ceiling of it?

Its usually down so its closer to the cpu. When up it may help suck any hot air trapped at the top of the case but there are no components up there. Mine faces down and thats the way they designed it si its good nuff for me.

So the PSU fan isn't supposed to cool down the PSU? I figured if it was aimed at the components and sucked up the heat it would screw up the PSU. Thanks for the info.

The PSU fan is there to provide air flow. On my new PC it's facing down, sucking the hot air that's blown out through back. The air is not that hot that could ruin PSU components. If there wouldn't be any air flow, then you would have problems. On the other PSUs, I have the fan installed on the back of the PSU, exhausting air from the case.
So, the PSU fan cools down the PSU and the case.

Yeah... keep in mind which way the fan blows. If you have it facing up, the fan sucks in air from the top of the case, rushes it through the PSU, and pushes it out the back. But there's probably only like 0.25" of clearance between the top of the case and the fan.. .so you're probably going to make all sorts of noise trying to suck all that air through such a small space.

there is only one way a PSU will fit. you don't need to know which direction the fan is blowing anyway.
