Where the f*** is HSR in GF3?????

not a single hardware site didn't talk about this, so will we see HSR and "NO memory bandwith limitation" or not???
I just can't belive that a few months ago we all talked about 7.17 (that never came out) detonators and HSR support for gf1 and gf2. When we never got those drivers we all thought that this function will be built-in gf3 (and will work like kyro at 200 mhz and 500 mhz ddr), so what the phuck is goin on with hsr&gf3 now??

Didn't you read Anand's review. A form of HSR is built into the Geforce 3 drivers.

If I recall correctly, the more robust approach which nVidia has taken compared to 2Dfx makes it so that a complete HSR is NOT POSSIBLE in drivers alone.

There are 3 nVidia core design teams working in a 18 month time frame and a 6 month release cycle. Therefore the team that just finished NV20 will now start to work on NV35. If nVidia has a "Hyper-Z rip pff" it was not a knee-jerk reaction to ATI, it would have had to be implemented BEFORE radeon was even announced.

The HSR on the GeForce3 will show up later on with games that support it. The hardware is built so that if a game is rendered front to back the board can eliminate a great deal of overdraw by throwing out non visible objects(simplified).

While this may seem like it will be fairly useless for today's games, X-Box ports and DX8 specific titles should show an enormous rift between it and the GeForce2 Ultra in fillrate intensive situatuions.

Other then that, wait until we see some final benches(with proper drivers) to get a better idea of how well the other portions of GF3's HSR works for today's games.
