Where to Assemble Computer?

Hey guys, I have a simple question. I am going to be putting together my computer soon and was wondering where I should do it. I'd like to put it on a table so it would be easier on my back/neck and was wondering if that would be okay? Also if there is glass on the table would that be ok? Thanks.

Wherever you are comfortable with. Glass table is fine... just be sure not to bang anything down onto it or the obvious may occur!

I do it wherever I find space.

I often have to do it on my bed if the workbench is full of crap ...

Non-conductive table is a good idea

If there's carpet underneath it and it's dry where you are make sure you don't rub your feet around a lot and static something to death.

I would do it on the table (Dont think that way people) or the a really low table somewhere where you can have an overview of the whole system

Well, try to do it not on carpet. However, I've seen chips take visible static to their pins and survive.

I did mine on our big glass table in the dining room. The table is on a rug, and I kept running up to my room (where my other computer was) to read the guide. So don't worry TOO much about static, though of course don't neglect it. Plug the PSU in once installed (though don't turn it on!), and touch a metal part of the case better and after touching anything.

I did it on my carpet... Stuck my case there, and when I did mobo prepping, I put my mobo's antistatic bag on top of the box, then the mobo on top of that. Worked perfectly fine.

I normally put it together on my bed, as my computer lives in my room. Whenever i'm poking around in it i just lay it on it's side. If the jobs going to take more than 5 minutes then i'll again use the bed. Never worried too much about static but then i've never done anything that might induce a large amount of it. Just use commen sense really.

I spread a blanket out over the kitchen table.

I spread a towel over our glass coffee table. Its nice and low.

Any surface is fine. Make sure to properly ground yourself!
