I've only bought from newegg (other than brick & mortar) and they only seem to have
the MSI version of the 7900GT. I don't know much about MSIs track record with video
cards and was looking to stay towards the Evga, XFX, or even ASUS but they are sold
out of them. Are there any other reputable online places to search that don't price
gouge due to supply/demand?

Well, Mwave.com says they have all versions of eVGA 7900 GT cards in stock. I just ordered the superclocked. I am a little sceptical, though. People at Reselleratings.com say that sometimes they don't update the site often enough. So, you order something that is supposedly in stock, then find out they are sold out. And it is a bit of a hassle to cancel the order. Hope I don't have that experience with them. If so, it will be the first and definately last time I do business with them.

then followed by the 9000 series

If you bought the 7900GT CO, you could have saved $50 by buying from Monarch.

This is what kept me from buying from Monarch:

Due to High Demand there could be a Delay in Shipping
*New Item - Usually ships in 4-6 days

Then add the normal shipping delays and you are potentially looking at 2 weeks to get the card. :|

Hehe.

It is funny because when the 7800GTX came out, I said I'd wait for 7900, and now I want to wait for 8000 series myself.

But I'm saying this because there will be more of a difference between 7900 and 8000 than 7800 and 7900...hopefully...

Um, yeah...if that was the card I ordered. I said I ordered the Superclocked, not the regular co. You are partially right, though. I could have saved twenty bucks if I bought superclocked from Monarch.

The quality make of MSI products isn't all that good. I've heard horror stories about DOA MSI products. MSI has 11 video card types in the refurbished area at newegg and 13 AMD motherboard types in the refurbished area and 11 intel motherboard types in the refurb area, which isn't saying much good about their products.

Well, it was 369.69 before I placed my order. So, not a problem there. I was a little worried if they actually had them in stock, since nobody else did. But, my worries were for nothing. I ordered yesterday. They shipped today. Fedex says I will have it tomorrow. They are out of stock on them now, though. Lucky I ordered when I did.

Yes, other e-tailers besides Newegg do exist...omg, it's a miracle.

AT's pricing engine is an interesting tool to shop with

I would go for an XFX or eVGA...eVGA especially, heard lots of good things about them. But both have nice lifetime warranties. I'm pretty sure BFG does too. But eVGA has the 90-day step-up, and their warranty covers all kinds of stuff like overclocking. Whichever way you go have fun with your 7900 and try to get a decent OC out of it.
