Where to buy a new Louis Vuitton purse at a discount?

$1300 on a purse... not very likely that I'll ever do that. I certainly wouldn't have done it for a GF unless I was making 200k annually. Even then, that's a bit much.

My wife kept checking out Coach purses. I finally insisted she buy one that she liked at an outlet store somewhere. She loves that thing.

I suppose it depends on your income level, but if you're a run of the mill guy, 1300 on a purse is fucking nuts. If you're looking for a discounted item, I'd suspect you aren't far from the rest of us. In that case, I'd simply say, no. Is there something else you want?

She has three purses - two in the back of the closet (or somewhere) collecting dust, and one that she carries fairly regularly. The one she carries now is the only one she's bought since we've been together (going on 7 years). She has a couple of cheap canvas totes and a backpack that she uses when she has to carry something a bit bulkier.

I bought my old GF a LV Brea Vernis purse a couple of years ago (my idea, not hers). I explored ways of getting a discount (including an employee discount, because the LV boutique was in a Macy's and a family friend is a Macy's employee). I found no avenues to get a discount and finally just bit the bullet and paid full price - I think it was around $1,100. I will say I thought it was a beautiful purse as such things go.

She had been buying me some very generous presents (including some $600 shoes and a $1,000 Tumi suitcase). I bought her the purse and told her, no more of these crazy gifts!

LV is not available legally anywhere by LV. They don't really ever blow out their merchandise as they don't have too.

Personally I don't see a problem with spending money on this if that's what a woman is into. Just like the costly cars, watches, bicycles and electronics I love, these purses are special and make their owners feel special. Moreover, they will, if used with reasonable care, hold their value well and even increase in value over time (whereas most lesser alternatives - say, Coach - will be worth diddly after a year or two). Personally I like using elegant, well designed things, and I imagine if I were a woman I would probably carry a fancy purse, for much the same reason I drive a BMW, ride a Moots road bike, wear an Omega watch, etc. I don't prefer these because of their brands - I just prefer their design and engineering relative to, say, a Honda, a Trek, or a Casio. To me LV has a feeling of quality and their products seem to hold up remarkably well.

You're lucky she only wants $1,300 LV purse. LV raised their prices across the board about 3 years ago so $1,300 is like the low-end LV now. Just buy it from the official store.

Lot of women don't want LV now because it's so common. In South Korea, LV bag is called "two second bag" because you'll see someone carrying it every two seconds. My wife doesn't want another LV bag.

She gave me 3 choices. I picked the cheapest one. I hope this is not a test.
