The hot deal here is not to be fooled by advertising and buy overpriced Monster cable products.

I really couldn't tell the difference between a Monster RCA video cable and a generic cable that came with my Dish receiver.

In fact, I bought gauge 12 cable, but not Monster brand, 53C/ft. Half of the cost of monster.

Why don't you just cut the ends off an old extension cord? My 8-tracks never sounded better. Of course I got me the high-end model that records 8-tracks also.

Hehehehe - you guys are funny.
While I'm inclined to agree with most of you that just about any old cable will suffice for computer uses, those of you who are saying anything will suffice for audio speaker cable are flat wrong.
Now, if you're talking about something to hook your POS Sony ES Mega THX receiver, 200 CD jukebox, and Klipsch speakers, you might not be able to hear any difference between interconnects and speaker cables.
However, on even a modestly good home audio system different cable sound markedly different. The hard part is choosing which one sounds best to YOU at the price you can afford.
Anyway, figured I could add some more off-topicness to this non-hot deal thread.

I agree with you about the jukebox and the sony receiver (yes even their es line) but what do have against Klipsch? If you are talking the 600 - 1000 price segment their choices cannot be beat.

---------
NAD c160 pre-amp
NAD c270 120 X 2 amp
Klipsch RF-3 mains

mcelectronics or something had RCA brand (supposed monster rebadge.. they look the part) for REALLY cheap. I bought some, works nicely indeed.

Bought some 12ga speaker wire from PE.. i really shouldn't have They BARELY fit in the receiver and what not hehe.. not, it's not some pro audio system we got going, but the 12ga was just so cheap (some special).

You know what, now I'm going to have to go buy some monster cables, take them to my EE lab and test their impedance to prove you wrong

Monster cables are the biggest scam known to electronics equipment. A copper wire is a copper wire. The resistance and reactance of a wire doesn't suddenly change an order of magnitude because there are more braids or if they use "oxygen free" copper.
