Where to buy Plastic Bags?

So now with all these plastic bag bans, I need a plastic bag replacement for my small trash cans at home. I'm thinking those bags that they used to have at Target? Those were sturdy and nice.

Anyone buy plastic bags online? Say a box of 200 or something? I'm looking for recommendations of something good, not something that will break easily under a little bit of weight.

Edit: I found these but the reviews say it's not as thick as the Target bags.

When i'm in another county I stop at a walmart or grocery store, use self checkout and get at least 50 bags with my purchase. It lasts me a while.

Bag bans will end soon enough. Sadly, it may take the death of another person from using a reused, unsanitary bag though.

This means we just have to wait it out.

U-Line sells online in bulk.

came to post this

But it sounds like the OP just wants a few for his house. U-Line is awesome but probably overkill for the OP. U-Line is all we use at work for boxes, liners, tape and something called an "industrial strapping kit" which I refer to as the industrial strap on.

Yes this is a major thing in California. All the beach cities in Southern California are banning plastic shopping bags at grocery stores and large businesses. It is supposed to help save the beaches blah blah blah whatever. It is really a major pain in the ass.

I live in a city that does not have bans but a couple blocks away in Long Beach they have bans. If you don't bring your own shopping bags you need to pay 10cents a bag for paper bags. I thought the plastic bags were to save trees. Oh well.

It has changed my shopping habits. I will avoid grocery shopping in places that have the bag bans.

It is not like I just throw away the plastic ones. I reuse them for all kinds of things.

I just wish the US had an online shopping system for groceries. I would pay a premium for it.

They do have them.

As far as a plastic bag ban goes, I think its a good idea. If you think about it, those bags never degrade, they're here forever. Someone should invent a biodegradable bag, or we should pay the true cost for paper bags. 30 cents for a few grocery bags is not making anyone's bottom line that much worse off.

I see.

I buy 3 gallon wastebasket liners at the grocery store, for the bathrooms and the cat litterboxes. I can even get scented ones.

I was avoiding stores too but then every surrounding city started banning bags so now I'm forced to use re-usables.

Toronto tried banning them a couple years ago back when they had the socialists running council. That since got overturned. Most places charge 5 cents a bag now.

Bans are really stupid when you think about it because I recycle my grocery bags for garbage or to carry dirty things like shoes. Used to use them to clean up dog poop back when I had a dog. It's stupid that they want you to buy them now when it was something I already had on hand anyway. Probably why that ban got overturned. Plus studies have shown that paper and cloth bags are actually harder on the environment since they use more energy to manufacture.

Any ultra liberal city has this.

Austin, TX
San Fran, CA
Southern California beach communities

In the end someone will die because their chicken with salmonella contaminated their bag, etc. This has happened before so its just a matter of time.

People used paper bags for decades and it was never a problem...

OP, I know it's an odd idea...but you can BUY trash can liners almost anywhere...
