Where to Eat in Nashville?

Going to nville for a few days next week and need some restaurant recommendations in the downtown area, but I don't mind going anywhere within 20 min of downtown.

Any good BBQ places? I don't trust some of the website lists because they list Mortons as one of the best. Sure Mortons is good, but it's a chain and not unique to Nashville (and a steakhouse not BBQ) so I'm not interested.

Forget Mortons, you gotta check out the Stock Yard.

Cadillac Ranch is good too, they have locations other places, I've been to the one in Indianapolis. I wouldn't call them a chain, there are just a handful of them. Give em' a try! :thumbsup:

The Stock Yard isn't good anymore. It went downhill a long time ago.

Steak House = Flemmings

BBQ = Jacks (off Broadway and 4th I think) or Jim & Nicks (off Charlotte Ave. about 10 mins outside Downtown)

Sushi = RuSans (12th Ave & Division Street)

There's always Loveless Cafe which is pretty famous and the food is amazing. But it's probably 25-30 minutes outside of downtown.

If you want Family Style (where you sit with other people at a big table) southern cooking, Monell's in Germantown (3 mins outside of downtown)

Sunset Grill is quite good. Across the street is a tapas/bar called La Rumba that is a fun place.

If you want something romantic, Zola's is excellent.

Mellow Mushroom is *awesome* pizza right near Vanderbilt.

There is also a really good fried chicken shack-type place that is near the theater in hillsboro village but I can't remember the name.

Sorry, yes it is. But they still have one of the best steaks in Nashville and it's a great place to go if you want a high end steakhouse.

Jimmy Kelly's is another if you don't want a chain. It's an old gangster hangout from back in the day. It's in an old house with a cool vibe.

Good call on the Microbrews. There's places like Yazoo, Blackstone Restaurant & Brewery, Big River Grille & Brewing‎ and Boscos downtown. And if you really like beer, check out the Flying Saucer. They have something like 200 different kinds of beer. It's crazy.

While in Nashville last year I ate at Jacks. I would definitely recommend it.

Also, if you are looking for some entertainment at night make sure to stop by Coyote Ugly.

if you're looking downtown in the 2nd and broadway area you should go to Jack's. Then walk next door and enjoy the best live music of the beloved patriot tonks at roberts western world. Thurs/fri/sat starting around 7pm are the best nites there.

I was there last fall and it was fantastic.

We took a group of 120+ people there last year and the majority consensus was that it wasn't that good. Flemmings has far better steaks.

It's ok for the live music and to hang out, but it's expensive and the food is just meh.

Is the Pancake Pantry still there? That's what I think of when I think of eating in Nashville. It's carbo-heaven! Only place I could find that could make a better breakfast than I can

Yeah Big River Grill. Great food too.. Man when I went though it was SOOO Busy. Was worth it though.
