Will be in Seattle in a couple of weeks for a meeting and need suggestions where to eat. Sales reps are paying. Any ideas?
Thanks

Thai food go to Siams.

Burgers go to Dick's.

Crabs/corn, potatoes, etc then go to Crabpot.

Italian then go to Beppos nears the Space needle.

Korean go to Four Seasons or Ho Soon Yi in Lynnwood/Mount Lake Terrace.

Go to Dick's if you want a great burger and shake.

There was also a place there called Yak's that had GREAT steamed pork buns when I used to live there, though they called them humbows or something like that. I hope they are still in business.

Another place called Romio's Pizza and Pasta had the most amazing meatball sandwiches I have ever tried, I have yet to find one as good as theirs.

Yet another place I tried there was called The Five Spot, or The 5 Spot, don't remember if they spelled it out or not. They had theme weeks/months where they would feature dishes from various parts of the world, and decorate the restaurant to go along with the theme. We ate there for my birthday when they were doing Jamaican themed food. They even brought in Jamaican beer to go along with the cuisine.

I wouldn't waste money on Dick's, to be honest. I had a better burger and fries at Ghorm's off 272nd in Kent. Given that, there are tons of options in this city. It's limited only by your taste.

I love Queen Sheba on Capitol Hill for Ethiopian food; Bai Tong (in SeaTac) or Thai Tom (in the U District) for Thai food. Pho Bac in the International District for Vietnamese food. The Met, Daniel's Broiler, or Salty's for general fine dining. Tons more, but that's all that readily comes to mind.

Don't you guys have an El Gaucho up there? I live in Portland Or, and it's the best in town. Pretty sure there is one in Seattle.

Forgot to mention, I also enjoyed the food at Azteca. I ordered their Nachos Picadillo appetizer and the Macho Burrito main dish. Well, the nachos were a meal unto themselves, especially with all of the shredded beef on there. The burrito... they had special plates for the Macho Burrito because it was so long. ~

One local to the Pacific Northwest. I listed it in case he's from outside the area and feels like checking it out, get the stick out of your arse.

Fado, perhaps? The corner of 1st Ave and Columbia? Good place to grab lunch, although they go heavy with the garlic on some of their food.

That's like recommending Burger King. If you think a cheap chain restaurant is fine dining, I pity you.

Actually, it's not, but you're free to suffer from your own delusions. I never said it was "fine dining," so don't put words in my mouth jackass. It's a great place if you're looking to take a crowd of co-workers that a smaller place can't handle, though the OP didn't specify how many there will be.

You looking for inexpensive or night on the town?

For inexpensive/low key:

Try Dick's for burgers - it's an old fashioned 50's type walk up burger joint. No seating, no checks, no debit cards, no special orders. Just burgers, fries and shakes.

For some great fish and chips and a great view head to Sunfish down on Alki beach. If you're with mutiple people order some halibut, cod, and salmon and chips and try each kind. Great stuff!! Walk off the food on Alki beach if it's not raining.

Have fun!
