Where to get expandable cable sleeving and split loom plus cutting off IDE connector?

I'm tired of all my power cables looking ugly in my case (4 case fans plus HSF). Would the cable sleeving help clean it up a bit?

Also, as much as I like the look of rounded cables, I don't want to spend that much $ right now. Cutting it and using split loom doesn't look too bad, does it?

Finally, if I have a dual IDE connector but only need one connector, can I just cut off everything after the first connector (and still expect it to work )

Expandable cable sleeving from cyberguys.com, search for "sleeving". 100 meters for $23.49 (bargain). You'll also want to get heatshrink tubing to fix the ends.

Splitloom tubing.. could probably get it at a local autosupply store.. but I've bought mine at
jcwhitney.com. Again, cheap at 25ft for $6.75

I actually prefer the look of split-loom tubing vs. machine-made rounded cables...

DON"T cut off the end IDE connector! If you gotta remove a connector, remove the center connector and use a liquid insulation to seal the holes left when you pry out the IDCconnectors.

The end connector is the 'Drive 0' {Master} connector; whereas the center connector is the 'Drive 1' {Slave} connector.

If you use the jumpers on the drives, it doesn't matter which plug is used on the cable. Feel free to cut the "master" one off, tons of people in this forum have done so without problems.

Would the 1/4" split loom work okay for the power supply leads? It says that's what it's designed for, but I've not heard of using split loom for those.

That would work but to bundle more together use 1/2". I ordered 1 3 ft length of 1/4" chrome, 1 3ft legnth of 1/2" chrome and the same for blue. Case etc is a good company with good reviews at Resellerratings

Note: One order of split loom is 3 feet, that is a pretty good amount. I used a lot of mine but still have some left over.
