Where to get glasses

Apparently Pearle and a lot of other places don't take buy one get one free coupons along with insurance anymore, so does anyone know of anywhere that would? i need a new pair of glasses and i'd like to get prescription sunglasses too

If you have AAA then I think you get some sort of discount.

I got mine from Cohen's Optical. but not the cheap kind you're looking for. I paid about 350 for my glasses

i needed a new pair of glasses and went to costco. $43.99 for polycarbonate lens + cost of frames. very small selection but i found a pair of perry ellis frames for $39.99 i could live with until my insurance kicks in for new frames/lens/contact in june.

otherwise, i'd recommend costco.. i've heard good things about their optical department.. before this, i used to get my glasses at a local optitrician's office.. expensive, but she had a good selection

well, last time i got glasses i got 2 pairs for $4 after coupon and insurance. I doubt i'll get that low again, but i really need cheap here... i'm poor

Holy moley! This place looks to have generic Flexon frames for a quarter (or less) of the normal price! My wallet thanks you, I was planning on buying a pair next month.

When you really think about it, I really can't figure out how they justify the prices on frames at most places... There's GOT to be a huge mark-up. Heck, there are a lot of them that are just plastic, with little metal hinges, and they want a couple hundred dollars for the frames alone.

I just plan on taking measurements from my current frames and getting the closest match.

I got mine for about 400 some at the clinic at our hospital. You get warranty, etc. on them and they'll straighten them etc.

I've always bought from Zenni optical. Nothing beats them on price/value ratio. $30 glasses from them would easily go for $250+ at optical (i.e. rip-off) shops.

i need to see an eydoctor to get my prescription redone. how would that cost, anyone know? can you go to a regular store like lenscrafters and just get your prescription?

i got my glasses/contact at pearlvision b/c they had a free eye exam (might have been a promo)
and ive been happy with them

i think i'm gonna try zenni... it's worth a shot since they're so cheap. If they are bad or i don't like them, i'll donate them to one of the glasses for 3rd world country charities.

I guess i have to call my optometrist tomorrow to get my prescription... I know there's a way to read them from the new glasses... some of the markings or something... anyone know about this?

I've ordered from Zenni and $29 glasses and the 4 Zennis I got are keepers. I broke my $200 glasses and these $19 glasses are just as good and I don't feel bad if I ever break em. They're cheap enough that I bought 4, for backup.

They are good but their warranty sucks. I just had new lenses put in my frames and it cost me $102. The glasses were only six months old. PearleVision would have replaced the lenses for $0 in the first year.

They used to take a long time to arrive but they've seemed to improve. Last two units I ordered came within a week by first class mail. If you have a weird rx they do have a disclaimer that it could take a little longer.
