where to put my baybus??

I have a midtower (blizrad 360 case)
all my bays are filled:
tdk burner
dvd rom
sb live! live drive

i only have 3 5 1/4 bays. i use all those components on a daily basis.

however, my machine is so loud that i ordered a baybus kit for my fans.

but where can i mount it?? any ideas??

im not familiar with your case. got a link for it? you may be able to use whatever 3.5" cays you have left (depending what kind of baybus you got). if i can see the case, ill give you a few ideas

adapt it to fit under the floppy, screwed into the front bezel.

I made my own, and put it onto a 5.25" blank, but I have an sx1030 with one more bay than you. honestly, just pick a spot on the bezel, or on top where you like the way it looks.

honestly...unless there is a good level place somewhere on the bezel or you are willing to mount it on the metal of the case itself, you are going to have one hell of a time mounting that thing. I have that baybus and since there is no flexibility in it the mounting surface really has to be level and not too thick.

I think It would look pretty ill on top, except the leds might not be in view. Case metal isnt that hard to drill through with a decent bit, but this is more permanent, you cant just order a new case top like you could get a 5 1/2" drive bay cover,

think it through, itll turn out ok in the end

I'm thinking about ditching the live drive for a NewQ Platinum....that way I have headphone jack, DSP, and FM tuner

Eric, I went to a local CompUSA (your favorite) to check out the NewQ and it's ALOT smaller than I expected! I was imagining something much larger. It's not on sale anymore though, too bad.

Most of what is cool about the newq is asthetic and not functional. Basically the only things that it has that the live drive doesn't is DSP (I know that the Live itself has this....but it's more difficult to use on the live) a graphical spectrum analyser, and a FM tuner. Of course you also lose the MIDI, optical, and rca input/outputs on the live drive but I don't use them anyway so I don't care. The bigest thing that I want is the FM tuner and the &uuml;ber(german speakers please don't flame me for mispelling or inapropriate use....I don't care) cool spectrum analyser.

damn! why haven't i ever heard of those newq's before? they looked really cool. so instead of getting a live platinum, could i just get a live gamer and a newq platinum/gold? could someone point me to a few reviews for these? i couldn't find any w/ a quick search.

I havn't seen any reviews either....just a lot of people saying that it's cool. I know that that VH mentioned that they were going to get one for review...but never posted the review apparently. I also know that &quot;VH1&quot; (the computer of one of the webmasters) has one in it so that has to mean something.

I have Sound Blaster Live! Value, and I might be interested in a Live! Drive. I don't know that much about them - whould it work with my sound card? How much do they cost, and can you buy them seperatly?

What it be even worth having a SB Live! Platinum and the NewQ Platinum? Sorry to get off on a tangent but I was going to get a SB Plat. and this thing &quot;looks&quot; so cool for my tricked out case I want it now but for useability I don't know if it would be worth it. I don't care about FM. I just want to make sure I can basically just have it looking good and use my live. thnx.
