So........ as usual, I am from half a globe away; while I am very familiar with the west coast of the US, I am pretty much a blur when it comes to the east coast. Last time I was in NY was 12 years ago and I am planning a one week vacay there around the July the 4th week on 2018. Yes, it's far out but there's a reason for that.
Will be travelling with the gf and am looking for a safe place to stay. Generally, I would think that it's safe everywhere on the island of manhattan but it's good to do my due diligence. I have my eyes set on this hotel:
http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/nycmh-courtyard-new-york-manhattan-upper-east-side/
If I book it really early like a year early, it's about 150usd after taxes and I think it's a pretty good deal within the island but it's pretty up north on the 92nd street. Well, from the movies and what not, ( I am not judging ), it's borderline "unsafe" to be so up north to that side of the island. I might be wrong but would like to get some feedback from folks who are familiar with the area..
