Where to stay in Orlando?

I'm going to Orlando on Tuesday and need hotel recommendations. $$$ doesn't matter. I just want something close to all the attractions.

If you are going to be doing mostly Disney my manager says the Wilderness Lodge is incredible. Especially good if you are going with a girlfriend.

The Contemporary is a cool hotel because the Disney monorail goes through the middle so you have quick access to the parks although it isn't as nice luxury wise as the other, newer, hotels.

How about the disney world resort Dolphin? And did the hurricane that hit florida also hit this area?

good luck on hotels for this week - if the tourists aren't already occupying them, the refugees from the orlando areas w/out power are. disney was hit by charley, but it wasn't too bad, most of the east side of town got hit worse, but that's not to say they don't have problems. i can't speak on i-drive for sure, but disney provides power for themselves, so they are already back up. i do believe that seaworld has power as well, other than that, nothing is guaranteed. good luck though, and enjoy seeing all the trees and signs blown over

I hear nothing but great things about The Portofino Bay Hotel.

Its right by/in Universal Studios as well.

As a former Floridian of 15+ years, could offer a multitude of recommendations. If money is truly no object, be certain to look at either the Grand Cypress or the Renaissance. Both are in the heart of the attraction area, and offer excellent accomodations.

You might check this thead as well, for advice. If staying through any given Sunday, highly recommend the Sunday Champagne Brunch at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld. More information regarding such in the aforementioned thread.
