Where were you on 9-11?

I personally was asleep (pensicola Fla), my wife wakes me up. I'm pissed cause I want to slep. She says look at the TV! I get up in bed and look to see one of the towers burning. The first words out of my mouth was "Someone's gonna get their ass kicked". From the time I woke up, until late night, for the next few months I was glued to any "terror" news. Of course for the first few weeks thats all that was on TV. Thats my story. Where were you?

English class. They came over the PA with an announcement and at first I thought Bush was dead.

I was at work. The Internet access was down, and I ended up getting the news from my pager. I told my co-workers, and at first they didn't believe me!

on my way to health class at my local college when i heard the news on the radio. watched replays of united 175 hitting the second tower on the tv in health class. classes were called for the day shortly thereafter.

I was at work. My manager told me that a plane hit the world trade center. I thought it was a cessna or something since the news didn't really say anything; just couple of brief sentences that a plane hit the WTC.
Soon, we were aghast at the moments that followed. We were sent home right after since our main computer center was right next to the towers and they went down.

In my 6th grade art class, they brought a tv into my classroom and my classroom only. My class was the only class in my whole school informed about it. Tons of parents called in and complained to the teachers and staff and finally 2 days later the teachers told students what happened even though they already knew since they had been home. Teachers should of told earlier...

Roommate woke me up and said that one of the towers just got hit. The news stations weren't calling it a terrorist attack at the time yet until the 2nd plane hit. We were watching as the 2nd plane hit. We watched as the two buildings crumbled. The whole thing was happening and the feeling was surreal, like "WTF!? Did that just happen?".

I had an 11 am Discrete Mathematics class during my junior year of college. I woke up bright and early to do my homework, and had the tv on in the background with the volume off. After the first impact they had news footage and everyone was speculating a small plane hitting the tower. I didn't see the second impact but after it happened I flipped out and woke all (8) of my roommates up (we lived in a big off-campus house). For a minute I thought we were being bombed. Practically all my roommates were up from NYC (we attended a NY state school), and another one was in the Army Reserve. We all watched attentively, but I still went to class (homework completed). They canceled all classes in the afternoon (I still had my normal lecture). My friend was never called up.

Vegas hotel room trying to get back to sleep after my friend's buddy left early that morning for the return flight back to ILL. He barged back in saying the airport had been shut down and we turned on the TV to see the second airplane hit the second tower.

I was sleeping. Since I did and do not have TV, I blithely went to school, and saw everyone discussing a vague and violent scene I had thought occurred in a movie--simply because these people didn't seem like they cared about the news at all.
Then our teacher announced it...and...I mean. If I ever was depressed/scared/pissed/panicked/confused spontaneously and all that in one day, it was 9/11.

I'll never forget it. Just got to work and noticed all my co-workers huddled around the radio. My buddy Khoa told me what had happened. I didn't believe him at first but after listening for several seconds I knew it was true. All that could go through my head is all the people directly affected by the attack. I still can't believe it happened. I went home after work and listening to a playing of the national anthem and cried. I still cry to this day when I hear a well sung or played anthem (True Story).

i was in Jersey City, just across the river. when we heard the news of the first plane, we all went to the hotel roof and watched the 2nd plane hit.

i was in such shock. i felt like the world was going to end. i was at the hotel attending one of those crash MCSE courses. i just went to my car and drove home after watching that 2nd plane hit. on the way back on NJ turnpike, i turned around and saw the dust after the fall of the 2nd tower. it was a shocking site. i went home and i seriously thought the world was coming to an end.

i didn't leave my home for 3 days.

I was just arriving at school when it actually happened, but I didn't hear about it until several minutes later. I thought it was a joke until thirty minute later it was confirmed by someone. We were glued to the TV in second period until the dumbass principals thought it would be a good idea to turn off the TVs. It was some PC bullshit to make sure no one complained.

work for wachovia securities, i just walked in, and dow jones news was flashing some news thru the quotes ticker about a plane hitting the first tower. which we were debating what kind of the plane it was. then when the news about the second plane hit... we knew something big was going on.

I was in 8th grade music class. I remember the teacher saying that there had been a terrorist attack in NYC. I feel so ashamed because myself and one or two other kids actually laughed. I thought it was some kind of crazy joke. I heard people talking about it throughout the day, but when I got home and turned on the TV the reality of it sunk in. I could do nothing but stare at the screen. I watched the news all night feeling a terrible emptiness inside me.

At work driving in my truck. I heard the tail end of the report of the intial plane which they reported to be a cargo plane. I got to work and everyone was standing around debating on whether they could get the fire out when the other one hit.

Probably the most tramatic world event in my lifetime followed by the Challenger blowing up.
