Outside, playing flag football in gym class my senior year of HS. Every class I went to basically just had us watching the TV.

I was living in a dorm room a couple hundred yards from Airforce one in Sarasota. That fucking idiot, George W Bush (piece of shit) woke me up when his plane took off. I called a professor about an appointment I had that day and he told me about something at the world trade center. Nytimes.com was down, so I walked to the campus center and watched the news on tv.

I knew someone who was an intern at the elementary school the Idiot in Chief was visiting at the time.

I was putting together my schedule for the day, had the tv on in my office and CNN did a breaking news thing, Plane Hits World Trade centre. I ended up watching tv all day and cancelling my appointments.

It was actually kind of funny how people reacted right at the start, when the 2nd plane hit, I think it was live on tv, my first thought was "Holy Crap! What a Coincidence" Nobody was talking Terrorism.

When the towers were burning, people started jumping. News anchors started theorizing that terrorist got off the planes and were throwing them out the windows. *facepalm*

Then like 6 hours after that with all the planes grounded, a fighter jet flew over the scene and people started screaming again like they were being attacked Pearl Harbour style.

I bet you were jumping up and down with joy.

I was the new kid at a high school freshman year. Totally sucked. We were in earth science class making no-bake cookies for some reason. The English teacher ran in and said something about a plane crashing into the WTC. We turned on the tube and watched as the second one crashed, and subsequently watching the towers fall. What a surreal experience. So long ago. It was a beautiful day in small town Nebraska.

i was a sophomore working out in the morning PE class. we came in early because we didn't lift everyday, and instead of switching to news, someone switched to stupid talk radio.

we were on the west coast so I bet half the class didn't know wtf was going on yet, but I saw the 2nd plane hit already.

finally someone switched to a decent news station on the radio and we just listened during the whole class. i didn't get a full grasp of what was going on til my next class which took place in a computer lab. that was when i loaded a few news sites and read up on the extent of the damage.

I left home that morning having watched the two towers burning, and then at that point the pentagon was an unconfirmed hit, but there was footage showing smoke.

I was just getting out of bed when the first plane hit. I heard it on the radio. Just as I got out of the shower, I saw the second plane hit on the tv in my bedroom.

Just after I got to work, the first tower fell.

I turned to one of my co-workers who had asked "Who would do such a thing" and the words "Osama Bin Laden" came out of my mouth. I have no idea how I knew it was him, but somehow at that time I just knew.

It's been 11 years but if I recall correctly I was sitting in class at college when people start to mention the WTC towers had been hit by planes. Checking the computer, It wasn't on the big news sites at first but by the end of class it was all over.
The class was in the new building which had a big screen in the main hall, everyone was watching it in shock.

My cousin who lives down there had said something about having a job interview at wtc either the day before or after.

Probably because he tried to destroy it only eight years earlier. You didn't forget that just like we didn't forget this but, at this point, 9-11 over-shadows everything.

I was a sophomore in college. First class was at 10AM and so around 8:30AM was when my alarm was going off and I was snoozing. But one of my roommates must have left the door open and I heard voices drifting up from downstairs that a plane had crashed into a building. I thought they meant some small plane in our town. So I went downstairs and was there to watch as the second plane crashed.

I was in an Art class in High School, sophomore year. Our classes got cancelled for the day and we all sat in our first periods watching the news.

I was at home sleeping, my buddy called and told me about it. My wife and I just watched it on TV.

I saw the first tower fall and started yelling "the tower just collapsed!" meanwhile the TV idiot was just saying there was more dust or some none sense. It took them a minute or more to realize the thing just collapsed.

I spent the day watching news reports, I was out of work and doing home improvement stuff.

That wasn't Bin-Laden. OSM had been in the news because of several embassy bombings.

Seriously?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalid_Sheikh_Mohammed

It's the same as saying that 9-11, the USS Cole, or the embassy bombings, "weren't Bin-Laden" just because he didn't pick up the materials, come out there, and do it himself.

WTF are you talking about?

Osama Bin Laden had nothing to do with the 1993 WTC bombing. Try to find a single reference to bin laden here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Trade_Center_1993_bombings. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed joined Al-Qaeda several years afterwards. There have been quite a few jihadist attacks that didn't involve OBL. Saying that he was involved with 1993 is like saying he was involved with the Munich killings...

Bin Laden helped organize 9/11, USS Cole, and the 1998 embassy bombings. If you have some actual evidence of a bin laden role in 1993, post it.

Simple:
A fully-trained Al Qaeda member planned and executed the attack while OBL was the leader of Al Qaeda. When solicited for help, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed paid for it and gave advice but wasn't yet an Al Qaeda leader. His collaboration, no doubt, secured his high-ranking position later on.

Take your blinders off. The WTC bombings happened in 1993. Just because the organization of these people within Al Qaeda wasn't set in stone yet doesn't mean OBL didn't already lead the organization that bombed the WTC. He created an organization that trained people to do exactly what this man did with or without his direction (network of independent cells). He's every bit as responsible as he was for 9-11.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Trade_Center_Bombing#Planning_and_organization
Planning and organization

Ramzi Yousef, who was born as Abdul Basit Mahmoud Abdul Karim in Kuwait, spent time at Al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan,[5] before beginning in 1991 to plan a bombing attack within the United States. Yousef's uncle Khalid Shaikh Mohammed Ali Fadden, who later was considered the principal architect of the September 11 attacks, gave him advice and tips over the phone, and funded him with a US$1,400 wire transfer.[6]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-qaeda
al-Qaeda (play /ælˈkaɪdə/ al-KY-də; Arabic: القاعدة‎ al-qāʿidah, Arabic: [ælqɑːʕɪdɐ], translation: "The Base" and alternatively spelled al-Qaida and sometimes al-Qa'ida) is a global militant Islamist organization founded by Osama bin Laden at some point between August 1988[16] and late 1989,[17] with its origins being traceable to the Soviet War in Afghanistan.[18]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osama_bin_Laden#Formation_and_structuring_of_Al-Qaeda
Notes of a meeting of bin Laden and others on August 20, 1988 indicate al-Qaeda was a formal group by that time.

In the school cafeteria listening to the Principal tell us not to blame the Arab students for the attack.

Its funny because none of us were actually thinking about that and we didnt even know what had happened exactly. When I heard the news, we thought there was a terrible plane crash, none of us knew there was a terrorist attack until the parents started flooding the school trying to pick their kids up early. We were on full lockdown inside the Cafeteria. It was a confusing day.

I was only in 6th grade then.

I was in a computer programming class in college. One kid was late and mentioned something about an airplane flying into a building in NYC in the news, but we thought it was a small plane like a Cessna or something. By the time class let out, the hallways were filled with motionless kids staring at the TV's in the hallways...it was like a scene from a movie, everyone was transfixed on the events going on.

I remember sitting in my car in the parking lot for awhile listening to the news pour in. I only lived a couple hours away at the time and my buddy sent me photos from his apartment down the street. I think those images of the jets flying into the buildings will be burned into my memory forever RIP guys.

Sunday, September 10th sticks out in my memory. I was part of a company outing to a day game, Red Sox versus Yankees, at Yankee stadium. Like the next day, it was an absolutely gorgeous fall day. This was one of the few times I went to NYC without driving and it was the first time I had ever actually seen the Twin Towers in person, off in the distance, in the daylight.

I was driving to a job going down a hill and all of a sudden, I heard a loud bang out of my engine compartment and it`s as if the mufflers had been ripped off. It turned out one of the spark plug had popped out. I screwed the spark plug back in and drove to the job site and completed my work. I found out about the attack as I was driving home in the afternoon.
