where's ma new vista drivers ? :(

new vista drivers have been due since the 27th of november according to some sources... that makes them nearly 2 weeks late now.. does anyone have any news ? or are there any betas available anywhere like there often are for the XP versions?

I am assuming you mean the new nvidia drivers?

Either way they seem to be taking their sweet time with them. I dont doubt we wont see them until vista hits retail.

i meant the ATI ones..but they are both in the same overdue.

The nov 2nd ATI drivers really don't perform as well as some say.. yes they are functional (except for opengl) but their performance is far below the 6.12's performance.

And vista hit public on december 3rd.. meaning all new computers sold that normally come with XP, such as HP/DELL desktops and laptops.. now ship with vista.. and that's why both ATI and nvidia have been under pressure to deliver new vista drivers and have been due since late november with them.. so they are coming before january for sure.. but they are late.. and i was wondering if anyone had any news on the matter

mmmm I didn't know that they are already shipping computers with vista in them. That's kinda cool. What drivers would they put with them? Lets say you get a dell with a fancy gpu in it. They would have to put drivers in there wouldn't they?

Vista is available for volume license and some computer manufacturers. It's not on the 'shelf' so to speak just yet. Most likely the reason to delay is because it hasn't hit the 'shelves' yet.

However even so, there are people upgrading that need their drivers.

We havent gotten any comps with vista in yet, it will problably be shortly though.
