read coverage of the same story from multiple sources and draw your own conclusions?

I've always thought of Politico as relatively-unbiased, though, fwiw.

There is no unbiased information on politics.
This. You can read existing law/regs/policy documents to find out what the current direction of government is (stated direction anyway) and you can look up precinct by precinct election results to get an idea of what the voters are thinking but that's about it. Everything else is spin.

Read articles for facts and skip the opinions. Then, it doesn't matter which sites you use.

WARNING: This approach requires the application of a bit of brainpower. It is therefore not suitable for all members of P&N.

Unless you go to sites that make up their own news (example: Obama's trip to India).

Did you guys know that msnbc.com is completely seperate entity from the liberal channel msnbc? I had no idea till recently when that article came out about them thinking about changing their name to distance themselves from the tv show. I'm not saying msnbc.com doesn't have it's bias but you shouldn't discount it just because of the tv show.

You can have a basic statement of fact published in any venue and folks will spin it to fit their point of view or agenda, including ignoring it or rejecting it out of denial and spite.

C-SPAN and PBS imo is about as unbiased as it gets. However, you need to decide for yourself if you agree with that....or not.

I don't know of any particular news organization that is totally unbiased, but as far as individual journalists go I really like Jake Tapper from ABC.

I thought you're right in it, i.e., AT's P&N! There's no such thing as bias here, ask The Moderators.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with Politico. There are commentary links that go both ways but overall, I think it's a good source of politics.

First you must attain a state of real self knowledge. This will result in the death of the ego. Once your own ego is dead you will have no trouble seeing who has or does not have one. From yourself and those who are ego free you will be able to understand what it means to have no bias, to see directly into the truth of things. Get started right away. You will love yourself for doing so because to be ego free is to be free of self hate.

realistically bias is in the eye of the beholder. Multiple print sources are your best bet to avoid partisan shillery....

Try to read sources from outside the country as well. You would be surprised at what sources in other countries have to say..

I read 5 italian magazines, I get the WSJ, NYT, Chicago Tribune, among 10-15 other websites like politico, salon, and the like...

Try CNN international sometime as well, very refreshing since there are NO commercials exept for CNN shows...

OH forgot to mention the onion...

tbh, I think bias in the media is overstated a lot, at least outside of cable news. any reputable print media outlet would probably do you just fine for generic news stories (re: not opeds/opinions)
