Whey powder - you give your opinion please

I am looking for some opinions on this. I saw big bottles of this at Wal-Mart for $11 or so. It has a lot of protein that you are supposed to mix in with a drink, anything that you want.

Do you think this is good and should be bought?

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you trying to gain weight, then yes. If you trying to gain muscle mass, yes. But, I had better results with the soy protein. I felt better, gained mostly muscle mass weight as oppose to just weight in general. Only drawback to soy is that it tastes horrible. . .and by horrible, I mean it's pretty hard to stomach. Whey will taste good, but again, I felt that the soy protein worked better.

Soy is horrible for building muscle mass in men. The other thread has info on this.

Thank you very much for the quick replies.

I want to lose weight but increase muscle tone and strength. Or keep current weight but lose the excess fat. Is whey powder good for this?
