Which 1155 motherboard with display port out (no overclocking)
I'm looking for an inexpensive motherboard that has display out and pci slots. I prefer full size but micro atx might be ok. The H67 seem to run around $100 but none seem to have display out (perhaps I missed one?) and the micro-atx boards seem to not have pci slots.

The z68 asrock extreme 4 seems to have the features I would like (display out; appears reliable; and pci slots).

While I'll probably go with the 2500K (micro center $179) I do not require overclocking. This is for a linux system I use for web browsing; watching tv (cable; not over the air), email and (reason for processing power) transencoding. It is currently an e6300/7300 gs which seems to struggle since I've upgraded the monitor from 1280x1024 to 1920x1080.

The primary motivation for pci slots is the old tv tuner I have (bt240) from 2000. The reason for a full size case is the system will have 5 hd (currently has 3).

Weird; they actually have a full size pro3-M for $5 more; but it lacks the display port out. Advantage is it has 2 pci slots.

Why do you need display port? why is HDMI not sufficient? I have seen some H67s with display port but they are expensive

Can't remember if HDMI on these boards will work with high resolution monitors (such as dell 27 inch). Fairly sure display port does.

Actually to add to the mix I wonder if I would be better off upgrading the e6300 to a Q9505 which the p5b-E seems to support at reduced FSB.

If I go with 2500K I'll need 2 pci slots which the H67's don't seem to support but if HDMI can handle the higher resolution without overscan issues then maybe the full size asrock pro3 is the better solution.

So far what I've been abl to gather is the q9505 will cost $230; and use less power than the e6300 and have a linear speed of close to 2x e6300 as well as the quad cores. The 2500K will be a bit faster than the q9505 but the total cost will be 190+105+80 (proc, mb, mem) and likely a bit of hassle for 6 months while drivers mature. One thing that seems a pain is that I can't seem to find a 4 port sata card (non-raid).
