I currently have a Samsung SyncMaster 900NF.

I'm thinking about buying a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 91 and a Samsung 955df (from the forums for $400, good price?) and I want to know which of these three monitors are the best. I will be using one and my dad and sister will use the other two...and I want the best one. Hahaha. Anyways, which of these three is the "best"?

get a picture and a game.

sit down.

put monitor 1 up and play the game and view the picture

repeat for monitor 2, and then 3.

pick which one you like better and then report back to this thread

Easier said then done... I've seen the 900NF and 955DF, the 900NF is definitely the better of two. I can't say anything about the Mitsubishi except that their cars suck.

If that mitsu uses a diamondtron screen, get it.

How is the 955DF a 'POS'? Care to elaborate? :disgust:

I love my 955DF, but if you intend on running resolutions higher than 1280x1024, I'd start looking elsewhere. It's a great looking flat screen CRT with an incredible picture, but with the Hz/res ratings, it's really just the best 19" you can buy... in the entry level market. I've heard the 900NF was better too, but I've never seen one in person. Going with a Dell (Sony) Trinitron monitor off their website isn't a bad idea at all, and I'd also have a look at the NECs at Best Buy- I've heard they're great. $400 is way too much to spend on a 19" monitor nowadays- you shouldn't have to spend much more than $300, if that.

I'd argue that you don't need to spend too much more than $200. Just look for the superb Samsung 950P. Might be a bit hard to find since IIRC it's been discontinued, and don't be tricked into geting the far inferior replacement for it, the 950B.

I got the Hitachi CM721F (black) from Newegg. It's a great monitor at a good price (for me). Only problem I have is that I get scan lines when I turn on my tv (which is about 2 inches above my monitor).

For crt's, nothing can touch a flat screen trinitron/diamondtron tube. Nothing!

I love my 955df. The picture quality is great @ 1280x960 @ 75hz. I upgraded from a truely POS ProwView non-flat monitor. It was a huge improvement.
