Which 22" widescreen should i go with?

Out of all of those which one is the best for the money? I was thinking the Dell E228WFP is a safe choice, but at about $70 less AR, would the X2gen offer similar overall features for much less money?

Can anyone recommend any better 22" screens?

There is nothing "safe" about the Dell E228. It is getting erratic user ratings. X2Gen is basically "NoName" (sorry)

If you have to buy at Costco, I would recommend the $ 299 Viewsonic.

If you want the best 22-inch monitors: LG L226WT followed by Samsung 226BW

If you want the best deal today:

Acer AL2223WD at Newegg

Always expanding-choice of 22-inch widescreens

I just became aware of another B&M monitor deal at circuit city. http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=162989&cm_keycode=85
How does this compare with the newegg recommendation.

all 22in lcds seem to be TN panels... so they are basically pretty much the same

I'm really happy with the Dell E228WFP, but TN panels generally don't bug me, so YMMV.

Well I have owned a 22" Sceptre monitor and returned it for the awesome 24" BenQ and I have to say that its seriously a night and day difference! As cheap as the 22" panels are, you may want to seriously consider waiting and saving for a non TN panel type monitor. Or perhaps downgrade your size to a 20" WS and get a better panel. Id rather lose 2" of size, than have to put up with a horrible 6-bit color monitor!

The choice is yours my friend.

Thje Acer 2216 is a precursor to the 2223, but both are still being marketed. The main difference, apart from esthetics, is the 2223 has HDCP, while only the latest revision of the 2216 has HDCP.

If you go look at the 2216, you can try to see if the models in inventory have HDCP.

Don't worry about the lack on DVI input, which was Europe-specific at the time of this review.

This is true,however TN wise I think the Samsung 226BW has been gettnig good feedback from people.

Personally I'm sticking with my awesome Belinea 102035W 20" 8bit P-MVA panel .
