I own the Sony DAV-S300 and while I wouldn't recommend that system anymore due to its high price and low RMS wattage let me tell you that its only 30 watts per channel but it sounds pretty damned good for my small living room. I'm using my old Klipsch v2.400 subwoofer with it (Dual 6.5" firing sub; 160 watts) and the entire system doesnt sound bad at all. Its certainly not an "audiophile" setup, but its good enough for my small living room, and it works just fine with my X-Box. So if you're not playing in a huge room and you dont need "audiophile" quality, just merely DD5.1 / DTS surround sound ... Almost any of the 5.1 Home Theatre in a box systems should suffice for you. I would recommend going to BestBuy or something similar and just listening to some of the systems like the $399 550 watt Sony HTD-DW830 (can be had for less on the Internet if you try searching sites like MySimon or Yahoo Shopping... Pricematch with AMEX Blue if the vendors seem unreliable) or the 600 watt Pioneer HTP-210 for $399 (Again, you can purchase this system for less on a site like etronics.com)
