I need a lot of memory for my work and ordered a Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 CL16 QC 64GB kit, but the delivery date here in my country has been delayed for almost four weeks now..

What memory would you recommend instead if I'm unable to get this kit? My initial plan was to buy a 3200mhz 32GB kit and buy another later, but I was told that I should buy a 64GB kit instead as there is no guarantee that two 32gb kit's will play well together. Is this true or can I just buy two separate 32gb kits?

My computer specs are:
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
Asus ROG STRIX X470-F GAMING
Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1Tb M.2
MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8GB

*warning* I am not an expert but I’ve been looking into what ram will run fast for 32GB and have the potential to move to 64GB in the future.
Short answer is there are no such kits and the one you ordered which coincidentally was one I was looking at is no longer being advertised on crucials website. I think they stopped producing it.
You can find modules that will run at 2400 speed or slower. Also I think your motherboard is bitchy about having all 4 memory slots full with more than 8GB per slot.

Quick look at crucials site appears all 3000 & 3200 64GB kits are unavailable
Could be good news because maybe more or better engineered memory is coming. They do have links on where to buy so I’d check it out.

Yeah the availability seems to be really terrible at the moment. I think I might end up going with 2x16gb (32GB kit). Funnily enough I saw a returned 2x16gb corsair lpx 3000mhz kit for half price at the local shop but did not buy it as my 64gb kit was supposed to come the next day...

I want to add 32GB Samsung memory kits are robbery at this time. I can’t get myself to pay literally double the price of comparable Hynix memory.
Crucial did list a few kits that were certified to work. Look at the where to buy links on their website maybe you can find one.
Also from my amateurish research ddr 3000 performs very similar to ddr 3200 within a few percent. The performance drops off quickly when the speed is less than 2933(?) I think. Basically avoid 2400 or less memory speed

Thanks for the advice! What 32GB kit would you pick at this point? I'm getting really confused which brand uses better chips and what would work the best with the Ryzen and this specific mobo.

again I'm not an expert but I've looked into the subject. Here is the link to crucial for your motherboard

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/ASUS/rog-strix-x470-f-gaming

I'd go the fasted kit you can afford.
*be aware of the "show more" button at the bottom of the list.

Per Crucial this should run at 3200 speed with 64GB but I don't want to guarantee that. Double check the model number from crucial vs the model number with newegg.

Thanks!
I spent few hours checking availability of every shop out here. All the decently priced 64GB kit's have over two week availability, these 32GB kit's were available the best:

G.Skill Ripjaws V K2 DDR4-3200 CL16 - (2 x 16GB) 254,40 € (AVAILABLE NOW)
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 BK DC - ( 2x 16GB) 259,48 € (~two weeks)
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3200 MHz CL16 (2 x 16GB) 282,17 € (~two weeks)
Kingston HyperX FURY 3200 MHz CL18 - (2 x 16GB) 289,83 € (~one week)
Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3200 DC CL16 - (2 x 16GB) 307,69 € (AVAILABLE NOW)
Kingston HyperX Predator RGB DDR4-3200 C16 QC - (4 x 8GB) 344,93 € (AVAILABLE NOW)
G.Skill TridentZ DDR4-3200 C16 DC SR - (2 x 16GB) 377,11 € (~two weeks)
Kingston HyperX Predator 3600MHz CL17 (2 x 16GB) 380,22 € (~two weeks)
G.Skill TridentZ RGB DDR4-3200 C15 DC - (2 x 16GB) 402,69 € (~two weeks)
G.Skill TridentZ DDR4-3200 C14 DC - (2 x 16GB) 416,77 € (~two weeks)
G.Skill TridentZ RGB AMD DDR4-3200 C16 QC - (4 x 8GB) 418,20 € (AVAILABLE NOW)
G.Skill TridentZ DDR4-3200 C14 DC SW - (2 x 16GB) 449,80 € (AVAILABLE NOW)
G.Skill Flare X DDR4-3200 C14 QC - (4 x 8GB) 469,47 € (AVAILABLE NOW)

I'm thinking of going with either the 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws V K2 or Corsair Vengeage RGB.

If anyone has recommendations of the available kit's, I'm all ears!

^^^^be careful about the height of the ram with its heat sink. If it’s too high it may get in the way of your cooler.
Yeah I have the rest of the system built here and noticed that the fan of Thermalright Macho Rev.B will block the first slot just barely and but the edge of the fan housing could be cut just a bit to use all the four slots.

If I go with the 2x16GB, they will fit easily as the nearest slot to the CPU would not be used.

I am interested to hear if you are able to run anything @ DDR4-3200 when populating four RAM slots with 16GB DIMMs. I have never seen it done before on AM4.

That being said, you don't specifically have to buy a kit, though it helps if the manufacturers of both the RAM kit and your motherboard agree that your RAM should reach a particular speed with particular timings. They might offer you tech support to get it running if things don't work out-of-the-box.

I’m suspicious of the claim too, below is the link what do you think?

Crucial specifically states this memory kit is 100% compatible but I’ve learned tech companies tend to snooker people with qualifying words like 100% compatible at ddr 1600 speeds.

@Fanatical Meat the only thing it seems to guarantee is that it's "Ryzen Ready". Since AMD's AMP settings program is essentially dead, the only thing it complies with is XMP 2.0 which, in turn, is only somewhat guaranteed to work on certain Intel platforms.

I strongly suspect that the kit would run @ DDR4-2400 on AM4. That's just me being a pessimist. You might get more clocks out of it, who knows?

As the 64GB is starting to sound more and more like a bad idea, I'll try to ask around in Asus forum what 32GB kit people have used with the X470-F and what speeds they run.

I assume that it would be safer to use 2 x 16GB modules rather than 4 x 8GB?

I had no idea choosing memory would still be this hard

Ah that’s where the snookering is, yes it DDR4 3200 ram but it’s guaranteed to run at DDR4 2400 or above.

I run 32GB (4x8GB) on a B350 board and I can only get it stable at 2400 even though the RAM is rated for 3200. For my work more RAM is better than fast RAM, so I deal with it, but it's important to read the compatibility sheet for your motherboard. Most of the marketing numbers assume you'll be using two sticks, even if the board supports four.

Running Ryzen 2700X on an Gigabyte Aorus gaming 7 wifi x470 motherboard and with bios 31 running gskill Ripjaws V 3200Mhz(4x16) 64gb total. Memtest passes and windows memory diagnostic passes running at 3200Mhz.. Bought 32gb kit first then bought 2nd kit 1 month latter. It's on the posters original list.

Are the two 32 sets matched or mixed as in are the the same part number or mixed part numbers?

Same part number but bought from two different sellers on eBay. The first guy selling two sets of 32gb. Bought first set but was too late to buy second set(sold already). Month later another seller selling a single set of 32gb bought his. Made sure part number was the same. I had difficulty running the 1st set with original bios but after update to F31 the two sticks worked at 3200Mhz. Got second set and crossed my fingers for all four sticks and it booted and remained stable even after memtest and windows diagnostic passes. I have corsairs rgb 64gb kit 3200Mhz at the post office awaiting pickup so I'll see if in lucky with that ram.

Yep Corsair rgb 64gb kit works flawlessly on the Aorus gaming 7 wifi at 3200Mhz. Memtest and windows memory diagnostic passed as well.

FWIW, the QVL for the X570 Strix-E does list 4x16GB kits as tested in all 4 slots. They're 3600 CL16/CL17/CL18, though. I've been hearing 3200 CL16/CL15/CL14 kits should also work fine.

I'm leaning towards a 64GB LPX 3200 CL16 kit myself, or maybe a Tridentz RGB kit. The NH-D15 I ordered will block at least one (if not two) DIMMs, so there's likely little point in the extra $40 for blinkenlights.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I was wondering which 64GB kit is able to support on the Gigabtye Aorus Gaming 7 for 2700x.
There's so many variants out there for the Corsair rgb 64gb kit @psygnosi mentioned

4x16 should work with a 2700X but you won't be hitting fancy speeds unless you have an above-average 2700X sample. Superstition would suggest a G.Skill Flare X DDR4-3200 4x16 kit, but if you get it running above 2800 MT/s I suggest lighting candles to your favorite deity...
