Which Adobe Acrobat to Use

I have these PDF files that I download from our vendors. They are the basic product specs, and I fill in the specs for a certain project. Adobe Acrobat Reader allows me to type on the PDF, but I cannot save the files. Which version would I need to be able to type on the PDF forms and save it? I was looking at all the different versions, and the only one I'm positive will do it is Professional, but that's so expensive. I just wanted to see if anyone knew if another version would do it.

Thanks in advance.

If you take a look at this, they break down the product by features, but I don't know which feature this is specifically. I would say it was the third row, but I have Adobe Acrobat Professional on my PowerBook and am able to save what I type into the forms, and it says it's a Windows only feature on the chart.

Yeah, i like Foxit myself.

Much less bloated than Adobe's crap.

I downloaded some of the PDF files from our vendor and it won't let me type in the form fields. Am I supposed to just type on top of it and ignore the forms they provide? It tells me the file is protected when I open it. I can't save modifications.

That's alright. I downloaded the Pro Preview, which is full featured, but it still says the same thing. It appears Adobe Acrobat is the only way to do things. Now I have to figure out which version.
