Which AMD 64 3200+ to get for overclock?

Hi guys im about to buy a AMD 64 3200+ but which one should i get if im going to overclock the 512k cache 2.2ghz Newcastle (the current 2.2ghz processor is a newcastle right?) or the 1mg cache 2ghz claw hammer? How good has overclock been on both of these chips?

Ok just a general question to...all amd 64 2800's are newcastles correct or incorrect?

Those are newcastles. And i dont think one is substantially better at ocing then the other, id guess that it just depends on the specific chip that u get. Some oc way better then others.

so are you saying there is no preference on what you get for overclocking? You don't have an advantage with either core over the other for overclocking? I have two computers. My main workstation has a amd 64 2800+ overclocked to 2133 and my server has a amd xp 1800+ not overclocked (it didn't overclock very well). Im going to throw the 2800+ to the server and then i was going to get a 64 3200+ for my main machine.

Newcastle.

This topic has been discussed to death, and the general concensus has been that the Newcastle is the better chip overall, everything considered.

I got a newcastle(2.2ghz) and it does 2.5ghz on less than stock cooling(thermaltake silent copper or whatever) at default voltage(250x10). Since my mem is not that good(Infineon 400 cl3) I run it via the cpu/12 divider(208Mhz).
I did not try higher than that, but I am sure the cpu won't bring any problems going higher, it is the mem I am afraid of.
Between the 1mb and 512kb cache, I would say that the 512kb would overclock better, but the other one might perform a tiny bit better(depending on how well it overclocks tho). If you care about that tiny bit, and have the extra cash, be my guest.

From what I have seen all that matters is the revision CG vs C0 cache doesn't seem to cause the claw hammers to get lower OC's by any means.

So basially if you know your going to get a CG revision and are going to go for the highest OC you can the Clawhammer with 1 meg cache would be the better choice. If you leave it at stock the Newcastle would be better. If its it is a C0 revision then go Newcastle.

with a newcaslte you will atleast have a 200 mhz headstart. but on the other hand. if you manage to get the clawhammer to 2.5ghz with 1 meg cache. well you got yourself a fast machine there
