And what happens when your favorite "trusted site" has been hacked? I'm not going to trust my data to a website that just had their IT budget cut to save money. I'm also not going to worry about keeping every program or OS update or follow every current vulnerability waiting to be patched let alone the ones only the bad guys know about.
