Which Athlon XP motherboard to get?

After years of using only Intel, I'm looking to upgrade my P3 933 to an Athlon XP. Looking for opinions on motherboards. Stability is my primary buying point, with performance a close second. What would you recommend nforce, AMD 761 chipset or the new Via KT333a? Which brands would you recommend? I've been happy with Abit and Asus in the past and looking at them for this next upgrade.

You can't go wrong IMHO with a abit board if you've got the cash. The Asus A7M266 is a good mobo as well. I'd stay away from the A7A266. My best systems lately are all MSI boards the K7T266 Pro 2 and the K7N with the Nvidia nforce chipset. Good luck.

I still haven't had a problem with the Iwill XP333-R. Nice and stable. An ASUS is good, but why pay more for something that is just as good?

I can recommend the Abit KR7A-RAID..very nice and stable..excellent o/cing board...just avoid if you a liteon cdrw as there have been numerous problems with abit mobos and these cdrw....

ABIT all the way KR7A(133) still the fastest one for KT266A

Asus is nice and stable but to much pricey for me

IWIL XP333 is nice also but you have to be patient
to set it up 'til you get on the top performance
and you have the option for faster DDR also.

In the past few weeks I've recommended/built two systems for some friends. Both Athlon XP machines, one based on the ASUS A7V266-E and the the other just yesterday with the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP (KT333). Both boards are pretty feature-rich, with the 7VRXP a bit more so. Easy set-up...no problems with either system so far. FYI, the ASUS buyer opted for a GeForce3 Ti200 card, the Gigabyte buyer used a RADEON 8500 64mB ATi-built unit (now a very good value at <$150).
