Hi all,
I'm looking to complete an upgrade of my old rig and need advices on video card compatibility. I know I have to buy a new system but I want to wait for all the new technology that comes in the next few months, so please don't answer "buy a new system...". Any way, this P2B will go th the children...
Here are the specs of my system :
ASUS P2B motherboard AGP 1.0 3.3V (original version, no letters)
Powerleap Pl-iP3/T Slot-1 adapter with P3 Thualatin 1.4GHz
768MB PC100 SDRAM
My current video card is a Matrox Marvel G200.
I know an ATI 8500 works with my motherboard.
I am confused about the compatibility of newer video cards on this motherboard. I know there is different voltage signaling standard, 3.3V, 1.5V, and 0.8V, and different transfert speed 1x to 8x. Am I limited to 3.3V cards (Radeon 9000 is 3.3V and 1.5V).
I am looking for an All-In-Wonder recent Radeon video card. If someone have recent experience from an upgrade like this, please let me know.
Thanks,
JTL
