Which bios for K7S5A Pro ?

I just setup my new K7S5A Pro and XP 1800+ , and was horrified to see that the bios didn't allow for overclocking. I got the latest official bios, and there still was no fsb choice other than 100/133. So I got cheepoman's bios, (latest), but win xp wouldn't install (tried acpi and non acpi installation, they crash at different places). So I'm back to the latest official bios, running at a boring stock speed. Anybody know of any other bios that might allow for better fsb selection AND os installation?

cheepoman bios is pretty good. Not an official bios for the board though.

... and maybe not even suitable for the v5.x aka pro boards. Stick with the released original BIOS. (You did know beforehand that ECS boards usually are no-nonsense boards with zero overclocking toys, didn't you?)

The K7S5A as well as the K7S5A Pro are simply not targeted to the overclocker marketplace. Nothing wrong with that, nothing to be horrified about, just recognize the trade off you make.

For overclocking on a budget board, you might look at the KT333 chipset boards -- you can track them down for about the same cost as the K7S5A boards, perhaps a bit more.

Well, you might want to try the Honey X bios for K7S5A... I don't know if there is a version that officially supports the K7S5A Pro motherboard, but it is highly recommended. You can find it HERE.
