Which Board Is Better

Hi
I cann't seem to decide beetween Abit IC7-g or Asus P4B800 DLX . If you have any comments /sugestions please let me know. I am looking for a setup with either board with PC 3200 or PC 3700 , as for chip 2.8 C or 3.0 C.

Wait a bit if you can. The Abit has some memory issues last I checked, and I'm a bit biased against the P4P800 since I own one. I'd spend a few extra bucks for the P4C800 if you feel you must upgrade.

I think you should get Abit AI7. I like that board.
I have Asus P4P800 Deluxe too. Very stable and fast
the only problem is that Rev 2.00 of this board seems to have problems with electrical interference. I have a chance to test few of them (including mine) and they are all make the power supply to produce high pitch noises. There are similar issue with IC7 in the past too.

P4C from Asus is quite expensive which I dont know why . Noboard is perfect, I already have a Asus board so this time , I wanted to try Abit , whats the difference between AI7 and IC7-G except the giabit ethernet.

I am looking to build a new sytem in a couple of weks , what kinds of memory isses does Abit has , this is the first time I heard something like this. Does Abit and Asus both offer 3 year warrenty or 1 year.

AI7 uses 865PE
it also has uguru.

I think the AI7 doesnt like certain ram with BH5 chips on it.
Im not sure about warranty.

The AI7 also has Realtek 10/100 LAN on the PCI bus, whereas the IC7-G has Intel 10/100/1000 LAN on a special CSA bus. The performance and CPU utilization of CSA LAN is much higher, plus it doesn't take away from PCI bandwidth. You've got about 110 megabytes / second to share between firewire, secondary SATA controller, and any PCI cards (sound cards, etc) that you install.

Does anyone has Asus P4C 800 DLX and IC7-G and I want to know things they like dont like about it. I read that IC7-G has lots of sound issues and when RMA is done from Abit you get a referbished one. I had my Asus for 2 years no problems what so ever but IC7-g will look nice in my windowed case but I also want a stable/problem free system for couple of years.

This is my system currently
My IC7-Max3
It's a great motherboard, no problems with onboard sound at all.

There is NO problem with the memory configuration as stated above with these boards.
The original version did have a problem with going up to 2.8 volts on the memory, but the boards don't anymore.

Just look at the features of each board and pick the one that meets your needs the best. I am running both IC7 and the P4C800. The only real difference for overclocking is the Abit does have more memory options in the bios. The Asus uses AMI and the Abit uses Award BIOS, just FYI if that matters.
