The question is too broad. That's like asking "Ford or Chevy?" The answer would be based on specific models. (Corvette over Escort, GT40 over Cavalier, etc.) Point is, each tire company produces junk low end "economy line" tires, and high end performance tires.

For some good end user reviews, go here. FWIW, I just put a new set of Pirelli P-Zero Neros on my car a few weeks ago, and they rock. I wanted to get the best performing tires I could that were also acceptable in snow, but not ridiculously priced. After reviewing that site, I decided on the Pirellis.

Anyone that's gotten MXV4 Michelins as OEM tires will likely vote Goodyear in the poll, just because it's not Michelin. Everyone's got at least a few bad apples in the line.

Yeah those Energy MXV4s are garbage from any performance perspective. The main reason these are used is because they have low rolling resistance, good for gas mileage, supposedly makes a 1-2 mpg difference over other tires. The trade off is the compound is hard and grip is poor.

I am probably gonna get either Bridgestone Potenzas or Michelin Pilots for my next set.

My Bridgestone Potenza RE92s really, really suck. I am looking forward to replacing them with some Michelin Pilot Sport A/Ss. IMO Bridgestone suffers from many of the same quality issues as its sister company, Firestone.

dude, get them off of your car ASAP. those tires are freaking dangerous in the fact that they don't grip well when dry, and are horrible when wet. don't even get me started with what happens when it's snow on the ground.

i probably would have avoided my first accident if i had better tires on my Max.

I go through a set of tires at least once a year, performance wise michelin has better tires, goodyear way underates their treadlife, I typically get 80-90k out of 50k goodyear tires. I have now found that cheap tires are fine for normal use (anything short of lead footed racing types) and are typically a better bang for your buck. 40k liberators for my truck = 65 each, 50k goodyear = 140 each (255/65R16), I get at least 60k out of the liberators, and so for 130 I get about 30-40k more miles on two sets of liberators than on 1 set of goodyear for 40 less.

Best tire price/performance I've ever used are Khumos. Specifically, I've used the Escta 716, and they hold and wear better than my Michelin H4's that cost 50% more..
