Which brand offer good memory for overclocking at 133Mhz?

Hard to go wrong at http://www.mushkin.com . In ascending order of PC-133 quality and price(as of two weeks ago): Fujitsu-Siemens Infineon, Mosel Vitalic "Rev 1.5," and HSDRAM(which may cost a bit more than Mosel Vitalic "Rev 2&quot and Mosel Vitalic "Rev 2."

Don't waste your money with expensive PC133 ram. Most of the PC100 can even do 133 with no problems. Unless you are a speed freak and 2 fps will make a HUGE difference to you stick with what you can afford.

Apacer Infinion PC133 RAM is one of the best and least expensive.

Memory is VERY expensive now. Wait if possible for prices to drop.

I took a look and both Mushkin and Crucial have their PC100 and PC133 priced within a few dollars of one another. While you may get the PC100 to run stable at 133, why not buy PC133 and run at spec if the cost is only 2-3% more?

Hmmm...Save money? The last time I checked, the price difference between PC100 and PC133 is nominal. If you are in the market for RAM, you would be crazy not to go for PC133, IMO.

i'm just saying it's a waste of money to buy now. Memory price have gone up because tests show that RAMBUS sucks and PC133 is still the best. Wait if possible for a few months. The prices will drop by around $30.

Is it true that most pc100 will do 133? I have micron -8e modules on generic pcb I believe, that are rated at 125mhz. I am currently waiting on my p3 700 to arrive, do you think this ram or my kingston value 100 will do 133? This would help me a lot as I want to get my comp purring after getting my chip and I really don't want to buy memory at the current prices.

I don't know about that...Memory Man's Mosel Vitalic PC133 DIMM is #1. Check out the benchmark: http://www.overclockin.com/reviews/MemMan-Mosel/allramtested-400.gif

mosel does 156MHz at CAS2 and 161MHz at CAS3.

I'll agree that now may be a bad time to buy but I would NOT buy PC100 to run at 133 or above. Why? Simple. It's not rated for that speed so you've got no real guarantee that it will. And if it does, it sure won't be at CAS2. PC133 isn't so much more expensive to make it not worth it, and if you're looking to run FSB speeds in the 140s or more, anything else is an expensive crapshoot.

And why has no one mentioned Crucial? It's the bomb. As mentioned before many forum members have theirs running at 150 MHz. Mine can do 155 MHz at CAS 2. It's The -7E stuff.

Why the hell would anyone want to chance it to get PC100 vs pc133.

And Coki, what point is saving $30 in a few months, when you're gonna still spend $130 now for pc100, then spend $100 three months later for pc133?

What kind of crack thinking is that... That means you will have spent $230 for pc100 now, and upgrading to pc133 later... Why not just spend the extra $10(140 for Cas2 Crucial PC133) and not have to worry about buying new ram later on?
