Which browser do you use?

What on earth do you keep sticking your dick... I mean mouse into? Seriously, if you're getting infected that often, you're doing something wrong.

does not have to be - heavily infected. just slightly infected is enough to warrant a re-ghost/re-image.

like to keep my machines near zero infections and the first thing to get infected is usually internet explorer.

given up on anti-virus and anti-adware.
such software is only good on known in the past infections. worthless on new current infections.

re-ghost/re-image is done quicker than any anti scanning / fixing. sadly most times those fixing are worthless.

I repeat my previous statement. Since about 2001, the only mistake I made was to install a piece of software and not pay attention to the custom install options, which included the Ask Toolbar*. One uninstall later and things were back to normal. I'm not saying this to brag, as it isn't anything to brag about, it's normal (or pretty close to normal).

Unless your definition for an infection is so wide-ranging that it includes a browser cookie, you're doing something wrong.

Perhaps you're downloading a well-known piece of software from a dodgy source? Perhaps your router's security has been compromised and is serving you up results from a dodgy DNS server?

* - Which AFAIK is simply 'potentially unwanted software' and a search engine changer rather than an infection.

Firefox because I can use noscript and adblock plus. Both do a decent job of preventing infections. I still run my internet facing apps with Sandboxie which does an even better job of preventing infections.

I really need to take a look at Pale Moon soon. I'm not happy with Firefox dumbing down the browser and hate the new interface.

Yeah, I use NoScript as well. My wife hates it (which probably helps keep her off of my machine, she has her own), and it can be a bit tedious at times. I've tried alternative browsers or simply disabling NoScript for a while, but I have the impression that the reason why I started using it was to avoid enormous amounts of advertising. Websites load so much quicker as well with it.

Pale Moon stomps all over Firefox. It's so much faster and has the same lovely interface + add on compatibility

How much faster? Do you have any useful comparison links. Googling for more recent benchmarks turned gave this:

Chrome... im not loyal to it though, used to use FF.

A browsers UI is what sways me, IE's UI has always been garbage, turn on the "command bar" to see an example, shambles. Chrome and FF aren't really examples of doing it right either IMO because they lack the customization i would like to see, moving home buttons/back buttons, moving everything around to where i want it. No browser can do that though so chrome and FF are the best so far.

Im considering moving back to FF due to quite a few annoying things with chrome (someone already mentioned the gif thing). Middle mouse button behavior is erratic on some sites (works fine with IE).

EDIT: Just gave FF another shot and i found i can move pretty much everything around, forgot about that!

Where do you want to move the buttons to? You can't do anything with Chrome, but Firefox will let you move things around(for now :^/ )

well palemoon's good but to honest it also stutters and hangs for a slight moment while opening script heavy websites and pages with hi-res images.

Chrome on the other hand, while performs good, can't be trusted and there as many add-ons available for it as there are for the FF family of browsers.

Chrome seems to be the best all around browser out there.

I've tried Firefox numerous times but the scrolling simply isn't as smooth as IE10 or Chrome.

OTOH IE10 has surprised me with how fast/fluid it is. I could very easily live with it being my daily browser.

Where do you want to move the buttons to? You can't do anything with Chrome, but Firefox will let you move things around(for now :^/ )

Yup, I have Firefox customised to look like FF 3.5 (though with the modern looking buttons)
