Which Cad program?

I want to be able to mainly draw houses, experiement with add-ons for a house, that sort of thing. Is there a program that is really decently priced that will, let you input your current house and play around with adding on to it, and then show you a side view of your plan ect??

More for playing really, but would like it to be actually functional for future.

and did I mention cheap??

For home design I would use chief architect. Autocad is a great program but not the most user friendly.

They have a trial download and it is pretty easy to use. The trial doesn't expire it is just limited to what it can do.
Should be enough to experiment with.

those home architect programs are mostly rubbish. I don't think I've ever seen an architect or interior designer actually use one of those.

just use sketchup, it's free, and simple, and there's millions of components on 3dwarehouse.

You have never used chief architect then.
It is used by thousands of architects. It is even used to design shopping malls.
Sketchup is okay for general stuff, but isn't nowhere near the same as chief architect for laying out a house or altering your current home.
