Which camera?

I think the casio is the better buy but it being 10 megapixels for that cheap seems too good to be true. Any help is appreciated

Don't get tricked into the marketing BS of megapixels. More MP does not equate to better images/quality. In fact it's often the exact oposite. Most point and shoot type cameras have the same size sensor. Packing higher MP into a sensor of the same size can cause more "noise" in the pictures because the indivdual pixels get smaller and smaller as the manufacturer is cramming more pixels onto the same size sensor. Personally, 6MP is plenty for me... unless you're planning to print poster sized pictures, then the extra MP might be needed.

Aside from all of that though, you really need to provide more details about how you plan to use the camera, what features/qualities are important to you, etc. before anyone can give a recommendation on a camera that might fit your needs.

I wanted something light and small, both i think are great sizes. I really just want a point and shoot camera, i think my sd110 cannon is getting old and isn't working great anymore. I just need something that will last long within my budget. I think both look like great cameras and was just hoping for opinions. sorry for the not info part

I saw that one today and i didn't really like the design, though i did have a sd110 it was much smaller. The casio is saw was very thin but then the sony looked like a better camera.

I just bought the Sony Cyber-shot® @ J&R for 219.00. I love it.
Watch out for the Casios. I checked them out at CC awhile back. The sales clerk said he has had returns on the 7 mp one. Lousy picture quality. As for the Casio EX-Z1050BK , I believe it is better then the 7mp one but your better off with the DSC-W80 or the Canon SD1000.

ZX-1000 review, which is similar to ZX1050



krioni - the ZX1050 uses a 1/1.75" sensor, so actually has larger photosites than the W80, despite the increased resolution.

That's good to know, at least that particular model is not one of the same old crap that most are pimping out where they just cram more photosites into the same sensor.

BTW, my original post wasn't a comment on these particulare cameras, it was a general comment for people to be careful to not just look at MP and think higher is better... in many cases it is not. Thanks for the info on the ZX1050!

I LOVE my new Canon SD750 - $256 at amazon.

The SD1000 looked cheap IMO, the screen, build, and looks of the SD750 are much better.
