out of these cars , which car is the best family car (value, power, space)

Toyota Camry
Nissan Maxima
VW Passat
Audi A4
Subaru Outback
Volvo V40
Volvo S40

or recommend some other car ... no fords/chevys/saturn/hyundais/kia... pls

Kind of a wide range you've got there... how about an Acura TL? And if you are feeling sporty get a TL-S.

so A4 is out of the question ... we need a car with space ... so at least 4 ppl would be comfortable there

the 3.5se altima is a great choice.. i suggest you give one a test drive. and there is more than enough room for 4 adults to fit comfortably. The maxima is also a great car... if you can wait until the end of th yaer when the new models come out, you can probably get a great deal on one.

volvo's are good becuase they're really safe.. little pricey though, and they dont have the umpphhh or pickup that the nissan's have

how are you listing camry and passat in the same category?

i'd probably pick maxima... just cause it's got most room.

camry is a little bland for my taste.. however its a tried and true car.. great reliabilty.. proven family car.

the outback is nice and sporty.. and if you need the space of a station wagon, its a great choice.

and many other options, some you will not see in cars (including blinds that can be pulled up when a cop pulls along side. That way he can't see your kid running around in the back of the van

And not only that, in an accident between me and any of those cars, I win, probably with no more that a few scratches.

I also forgot to mention that the hi-end vans cost around 35K new, but you can usually get good deals on them or better yet find a 2 to 3 year old van for half that price. And room, well let's just say that my wife is 5'9" and can almost stand up in the thing. Power: 5.8L V-8. This engine will last forever.

We have two 2002 VW Passats and LOVE THEM!!!! (Pic)

They are VERY roomy cars, much more than the comparable A4. Stick with the 1.8t, its a fantastic engine for the money.

Passat (some people love 'em, I can't deny), Camry, Altima, Maxima, Accord, Legacy, Legacy (and Outback) wagon, can all be great values if you don't get crazy with the options.

The Audi A4 and Volvo V/S40 are small cars, and expensive. I'd honestly be as happy with a Civic because they're the same size inside for half the price of either of those two.

My mom has owned 6 camry's over the past 15 years. Its a reliable car, but feels cheap, drives cheap, and just is boring. Shes currently driving my dads passat and i dont think hes getting his car back.

As for the maxima, i had one 3 years ago when i got into an accident in my old car. It was ok, but nothing special.

Seriously, negotiate each car separately. They might be a little quicker to give you the absolute minimum that they will go, but they do have a certain bottom line they need for each car, and they're going to get it, if not from you, then from someone else.
