Which car to get?

I was at a car auction yesterday and bid on 2 cars, ended up being the high bidder on both of the vechicles. I can only have one, but not sure which one to get. Here is my brief run down of each vechicle and if someone could run a carfax for me, that would be great .

This car would mainly be used to drive me back and forth to college and work. Since I'm only getting liability coverage, insurance rates are about the same for both cars. It would seem more normal for a 17 year girl to be driving the Neon, but I really like how loaded the Cirrus is.... What do you guys think?

2000 Plymouth Neon LX
VIN: -------------------
Price: $4658
Wholesale value: $4550
Miles: 32K
Horsepower 132 @ 5600 RPM
Torque 130 @ 4600 RPM
EPA City 25 MPG
EPA Hwy 31 MPG
This is a basic car, nothing special or extra on it. Low milage on it though.

1998 Chrysler Cirrus LXi
VIN: 1C3EJ56H2WN286138
Price: $5004
Wholesale value: $4100
Miles: 59K
Horsepower 168 @ 5800 RPM
Torque 170 @ 4350 RPM
EPA City 19 MPG
EPA Hwy 28 MPG
This car basically comes loaded with everything possible... It has leather interior, power seating, sun roof, etc. I did noticed some torn leather towards top of back seats, that's not to big a deal to me since I don't plan on being back there. I think it has remote entry, but I'm not sure if I will get the remote for it since it auction. Also it was missing the stereo faceplate, not sure if I will get that item either. I did notice that it looked like some whate plastic was sticking out from where the cd would go in... There is the possibility of this car leaking oil, but I'm not sure on that.

Get the Neon, the cirrus has one of the worst automatic tranmssions chrysler ever made.

Also Visit some of these websites for more info on the neons Neons.org and Allpar

That's a tough one... The Neon is (most likely) going to be more reliable. But the Cirrus is a much nicer car.

I'd say that if you can afford to fix the Cirrus every now and then, then go for that. If you don't want to deal with the potential issues, then go for the Neon.

So just pop on by and I'll hook ya up. You think the 2.5 liter i4 is fun, try the 2.8 liter v6! :Q

As for the headlight, the hood is slightly misaligned and the headlight rubs against it when moving up and down. Went through 3 motors before I figured it out. Just haven't made it to Pick Your Part lately to get a new one...

The neon got 'fixed' in 2000 more or less, so it should be okay - I've driven one and it's not bad at all for a little car; much nicer than the cavalier/sunfire duo. Nicer interior than a 2000 civic IMO, but probably not as reliable.

Looks like the Neon it is , is there any differance between this being a Plymouth and the usual Dodge variety?

IIRC, the Plymouth version didn't get as many options (Ex. Power windows, etc.) as the Dodge version. Otherwise they are the same.

Before deciding on a car, do some research on Edmunds.com there are several cars in the price range you are looking at. Don't be stuck on just 1 or 2.
