I bet if you broke down the last category a majority of them would be nv 8 series cards.
I'd say the same.

I have a 4870 - when I was looking for a card back then, that was just the best one in the given price range - if the gtx260 would've been cheaper I'd have taken it, but at least here in Europe that wasn't (isn't usually) the case.

My card before the 4870 was a 8 series card, just because back then it was the other way round - no conspiracy here.

Also the number of people who want the best performance here is quite a bit higher then elsewhere and let's face it, atm there's no real good reason to buy a Nvidia highend card - at least if you could get a 5x card..

Thats the thing, I think there are a lot less hardcore fanboys about than people think.

Most enthusiasts usually make informed choices. They'll buy whats best at the time, hence lots of 8 series cards sold. Same with the ATI 4xxx and 5xxx series.

There are very few people who will only buy one brand of card, unfortunatly they tend to be the most vocal type of forum troll

You should have included the 8000 series NVidia cards, as many folks are still running those. That's why so many Other votes. Not AGP or integrated, just one generation older, still waiting for better AMD prices and to see what NVidia is cooking for Q1 2010 before we upgrade.

Radeon 4850 and I'm getting no more than 15 fps on WoW these days no matter the location and on low settings. What happened? I used to get 60 fps back when the level cap was 70. Is it just a more demanding expansion - happens when I'm in old zones too though. Running on Q6600 & 4GB ram too. I don't get it.

Thanks to a good Best Buy sale, and a unsuspecting cashier taking coupons on sale items, I dumped my 8800GT and picked up a 4890.

3 cards.
gts 250 (main system)
gf 9800GT (server)
radeon 3870 (sitting on a shelf, will use later)

^^ I don't like anything that runs hotter than those kind of cards

this poll assumes we only own 1 computer each...
How many people have a gaming PC + a laptop? what about an HTPC? file server? etc... And that is not even considering SLI/xFire

My GTX 260 is with XFX they said that it will be replaced with a different card because they don't have any Black Edition cards anymore! So I don't know I might get the GTX 275, or 285 if I'm lucky 295

But also have four 9800GT and a Radeon 3870.

This refurb just arrived last night. Came with a 4850. I immediately wiped the drive and put Windows 7 on it, threw in another 1 Tb drive I had lying around, and slapped in another 3 x 2gb DDR3 for a total of 9 gb RAM. No problems with the upgrades/installs; had it running Win 7 in under an hour. I haven't tried any gaming yet but I plan to put it to the test tonight. The only thing that sucks is the motherboard - the BIOS is locked so overclocking is out of the question, but I'm not much of an OC'er anyway. All things considered, great rig for only $650 (+ my upgrades).

I also agree. This doesn't show that we're ATI fanboys. It shows that we know that ATI 4xxx and 5xxx video cards have in general provided better performance for the money than nvidia competing cards. Before ATI's 4xxx cards were released, nvidias string of 8800 cards were the price-for-performance kings, and that same thing would be shown if the poll detailed out the nvidia 8800 and ATI 3xxx and 2xxx cards.
