which card for Sims 2?

I'm gonna buy a card off these forums for my girl to play Sims 2...I'm not much of a gamer myself but I watch things closely. However I don't know how demanding Sims 2 can be...I was thinking along the lines of X1800XL - 7800GT - 7600GT....what do ya'll think? fyi Her platform is 4800+ (AM2) 2gb RAM integrated 6150 gfx for now LOL

Almost any will do.. So... 6200 and up should do ya.
The 6150 doesn't do well? How does it lack in your opinion? Does she have a CRT or LCD? How much system RAM do you have alotted to the 6150? (maybe thats how a discreet 6200 or better would pull ahead).

If you want her to have all the "eye-candy" enabled (uhmm... no pun intended...) get something along the lines of 7800 and up.

My wife plays it a 1280 x 1024 all maxed out, but without "smoothing the edges", as they call the AA in this game, on my old 7950GT OC.

Surprisingly enough, it is a pretty "taxing" game, especially when you pan or zoom in.

She used to play it on the 7800GS AGP, and it looked actually pretty good, too.

The rest of the system: E6600 stock, 2GB PC2 667 RAM, ASrock 775Dual-VSTA.

This MSI 8600GT OC edition would be perfect for her. $75 after rebate and it's memory is overclocked from the standard 1400mhz to 1600mhz. I've used many of this exact card in customer's computers and it runs great for the price.

It also uses a much larger and very quiet fan as opposed to the evga and xfx models. Highly recommended and about 10x faster than your onboard

2 8800 ULTRAS IN SLI FOR TEH ULIMATE IN FPS!

Just kidding. Since the game was made in 2004, a GeForce 7600GT or better should suffice.
