I am looking at building a new system.
I have the p/s Enermax 451.
I have most of the drives & cards: Plexdor CD-RW, Pioneer dvd 115 16x, IBM Ultrastar 36zx HD, SBL- Plat.,etc.
I am deciding on the T'bird 1 GHz. or PIII 1 GHz. cpu and the Asus mobo to match.
Where I am having a tough time is on what case. I have been reading all the forum input on cases and hearing others comments. The PC Power & Cooling Steel tower case and the Addtronics tower seem to be the 2 choices now.
Any thoughts and/or experiences would be welcome. Also any other comments.

Thanks

Have you think of Supermicro 750-A? I'm using it, think it's better than others because it has a 90/90/25 fan on top of the CPU HSF.

the supermicro 750 is using the addtronics chassis.

I personally really like the Addtronics 7896/120. i love 120mm fans.

Also one to consider is the Chenbro Genie, awesome case, one of the best quality i've seen.

contact Jim Hanson at http://www.coolcases.com

he sells all the cases, and is a good guy

I'm using the Tornado 1000 from 3dcool.com and I'm happy with it. Lowered the temp by about 20 degrees but it is a bit noisy...not horribly so but it takes some getting used to

I'm using Supermicro 760-A, it is not a bad one but i think there are better ones now available.

What i dont like is that even if it is possible to put up to three 80mm fans in the front, once you put the front panel they are nearly blocked because of the distance from the fans to the outside and the thick filter supermicro uses.My temperature increass nearly 5°C with the front panel inserted.

Also the Ps does not have a fun blowing into the CPU (two in my system) and that limits somehow the cooling.

saw a cool looking black metal case at fry's for $270, antec? I could most likely beat or meat it witha ripoff $30 case and a few mods (and enjoy doing it). Case temp can only go as low as room temp.

get a ripoff $30 case.

Another vote for the Addtronics 7896A. You might pay a little more for it, but well worth it.
